What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Hi JB and all,
OMG yes! I grew up in Michigan so snow was a constant companion for a good 4-5 months per year. We would BUNDLE UP and go outside and run and jump and do snow angels and chase each other. Now in DC we don't get a ton of snow, but when we do, the kids get suited up and go throw snowbells and then they come in the garage and leave a gigantic pile of wet stuff for me to sort through/wash/hang...but they have so much fun! I always make them hot cocoa and I just love their excitement!
JB, I was so hoping you would have the day off! According to the Today Show weather, it's a mess all over the country. It was cold and rainy yesterday - I looked insane because I wore flip flops so I could get a pedicure but then I ended up running some errands so I was the fool with flip flops in 45 degree rain...
Kris is off on a business trip this afternoon through tomorrow evening so it's just ME, glorious ME. No cooking for anyone else. So my meals are up in the air, but I don't have to consider anyone else! Squeeeeeeeeeee!
No exercise planned - I was thinking I would do Zumba today but after waking up at 5 am and coughing incessantly...it didn't happen.
Have a fab day, everyone!

Good morning everyone! Glad to see everyone survived your Thanksgiving celebrations!
QOTD: Absolutely! We too built snow forts and sometimes when it was high enough we'd crawl onto the garage and jump off into it - until our parents caught us at least! :) Lots of sledding as we lived at the base of some hills. Then in the spring when it would all melt we would build rafts that we would use to paddle through the ditches. Ahhh I miss the freedom of being a child!
Here's today's menu:
B: 85 grams plain Skyr yogurt with a bit of sugar free peach syrup mixed in, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and 1/2 cup of Saskatoon berries

My 5 nieces and nephews used to pile the snow up so high to the lowest part of the roof, then climb out the window and slide down. It used to give me an absolute heart attack to drive up to the house and see kids in brightly colored snow suits come flying out of the window.

Afternoon! We had a great holiday in Myrtle Beach. Thursday was gorgeous and 70 degrees. Friday was colder and windy but it was nice to see friends. Today is a long day at work because tomorrow I'm meeting with our Vice Chancellor and hopefully hearing that my position is being reassigned, which I've been waiting for.
QOTD: I grew up where there was a ton of snow, so I liked playing in it. Snow holds very little appeal to me now, except that in NC it guarantees a snow day and working for a University means they close! We had a snow storm here last year during this week of December. This year we're looking at mid-50's so I guess we'll need to wait awhile before any potential snow.
