What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning and happy fake Friday to most! I'm really hoping my new firm lets us all leave early. I'm bringing desserts (plus other stuff discussed below to my cousin's on Thursday. I pre-ordered and my mom is picking up. However, she has a bad knee and is currently using a cane. It's raining here(!) and I really don't want her trying to maneuver through the wet street/parking lot/bakery with the cane. So, I'm hoping I can get out a bit early and go pick the stuff up.
QOTD: I signed up for a 10k drumstick dash. I couldn't run it last year because of my fall/face plant, and I'm hesitant this year because of the rain and temps in the 40s (hey, I live in So. Cal. 40 is COLD). So, I've signed up for spin class just in case. We're going to my cousin's at the beach. I'm bringing a rib roast, stuffing and dessert (I was assigned very eclectic food choices. There will also be turkey breast, a small ham, mashed potatoes and some kind of veggie. Doesn't really mater to me since i'm still on liquids. boo.
My plan:
B: overnight oats blended into a thickish liquid (dr. approved)
L: Tuscan white bean soup, blended
D: I'm thinking some kind of soup
S: homemade latte with fairlife milk, light and fit before the gym tonight, pre-made quest protein shake
I'm so over my carb laden meals that I would kill someone for a bite of chicken. Two more weeks, two more weeks, two more weeks.
I heard on TV that the LA Thanksgiving traffic is already brutal.

They just set new rules for Uber and Lyft at Boston's airport too.

You now have to grab a shuttle that will take you to offsite lots for uber and lyft. The weekend it rolled out, one of my friends got stuck in the line for 3 hours after is flight because it was so chaotic. They actually considered an Uber Black ride but the cost was astronomical (Black doesn't follow the same rules as a regular uber ride). The airport officials swear they have it worked out by adding more shuttles and more lanes for the rideshare drivers to wait, but I don't know anyone whose attempted it lately.
It's ridiculous. It works everywhere else. Dodger Stadium has a dedicated parking section for ride share. You request a ride, you get a "code" and you wait in the lounge until the parking people tell you what lane you ride is in. Don't know why the airport people are having such a hard time figuring it out.
Hey do it here for pickups. The rideshare waits in the crntral parking garage, and you go there. Dropoffs are easy and quick. But the traffic jams from Uber and Lyft waiting endlessly in the pickup lanes, and endlessly circling the airport were crazy.

G'morning all and Happy T eve,
No work today and lots of baking. I almost thought today was Thursday. Plans for today are gym, baking, knitting (have two more orders of HP sweaters that gotta finish before xmas) and tv binge watching.
QOTD: we always go to DH's friends home. The guys have been friends since jr high and his parents treated DH like their son, considering DH didn't have a good family life. So they are family. DH has a very small family, one brother and the mom but during the holidays they don't hang out together, bad memories.
I am only trusted with dessert stuff because everybody knows I hate cooking but love to bake. I'm making some pumpkin scones (to have with coffee in the afternoon). Trish if you are reading this, I'm making pumpkin biscotti from your recipe. We always need stuff for the morning after with coffee, before those who want to go shopping hit the road. Thank god nobody at this place likes pies because I don't like baking pies. For the kids I'm making some variation of chocolate chip cookies with macadamia nuts.
My meals yesterday:
- coffee, coffee, and more coffee with PP as creamer
- Parm cheese and deli turkey slices
- Fage yogurt
- Pumpkin frappuccino (vanilla protein, cold coffee, 2 tbsp of pumpkin pure, ice)
Happy Thanksgiving, y'all.

Your pumpkin frappachino sounds super yummy. I was considering buying the pumpkin spice protein but I think I would get sick of it quickly--yours sounds like a good way to get the flavor without committing to buying a whole thing!

Starbucks has nothing on this frappuccino! It is soooo yum with 30 gr of protein and zero guilt.
