Good morning JB and Menuers,
Thank you all for your feedback on the hairstyle Friday. I'll continue to wear it both ways in the appropriate situation. I agree the natural is fun and I look younger, However the straight makes me feel professional and put together and there are times in my life I need that look.
This weekend was a bust my brother had a tasting an invited people to sample the meats that he makes. I spoke of his butchering skills before. Well it would have been good if I stuck to the meat and cheese olives and roasted peppers but look what got in the way.
Accountability Not so great too much wine. But i had fun.
QOTD: I have not weighed or measured since the beginning. I know many do and I do fill out my Fitness pal every so often just to check my macros but I've only swayed a few pounds over the weekends and by Friday I am usually back on track. However I am not opposed to it. If I see myself slipping I will be right on it knowing it's the only way to keep the weight off. I'm just coming up on 2 years out so it's been easy up till now. I know from being here it will all change someday and I'll need to be more diligent.

My hair is naturally curly and very early in my career, I had a more senior attorney tell me that it looked unprofessional. I stuck with me, so for the longest time, I would straighten it if I had a court appearance, deposition, etc. I finally gave in and had a keratin treatment to make it easier to deal with. Looking back, I think it was very unprofessional of him to make that comment, but I understand completely.

Yes! I remember reading an article in Seventeen Magazine (circa 1989?) that showed people who went on job interviews and were rated afterwards by the potential employer on what they though the person's appearance said about the type of employee they would be (first of all, how much did the 80 suck for women, amIright??). But the person with the curly hair was always seen as messy and unkempt and never hired, so I went out of my way to straighten my hair for every interview and nice occasion. Now I do Keratin, too, but not really for the appearance, more for the convenience. I love life without frizz :)
