Whats on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Happy Saturday! What's the plan today? I need to get everything ready for Thanksgiving because I am working right up through Wednesday evening, an we are hosting 15 people on Thursday...cleaning, planning, shopping & baking, gotta do it all today... I would really have preferred a day in bed, but c'est la vie!
In other fun news, our Etsy store sold another pen! I need to update and add some new things today, too. I have been making rolling pins, and will upload a few onto the site later.
Accountability: Ok. Very sedentary because of all of the driving, but otherwise on plan.
QOTD: Do you have a go-to Thanksgiving recipe you always use? I seem to always experiment and try new things on the holidays, but there are people in my family who have tried and true recipes that they have brought for the last 40 years without fail!

Happy Saturday -- I've been up since about 230 but I have caught up on the mandalorian!
Good luck with doing all the things today JB -- those days can get a little intense. Put on some good podcasts and go to town -- I am listening to the Last Voyage of the Pong Su and Phoebe's Fall -- both Australian true crime podcasts. I might start a new audio book today though - either ME by Elton John or Zealot: A book about cults. We'll see.
QOTD - my sister is not an adventurous eater so years ago I was regulated to "prep"; I don't mind it although I would love to try some of the recipes I've found over the years but Thanksgiving is tradition and our tradition is I prep, lol. I am so excited for this week!
Menu - all the coffee! all of it!
Yogurt, protein bar, cheese sticks, and a pack of salami and olives with nuts. Not sure about dinner, depends on what time I get to my sisters.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Happy Saturday! I was up at 3 am. I laid there for a while and decided to get up and make coffee.
Yesterday was a great day celebrating my surgiversary. I didn't get to hike with my husband because he had to work late, but I did get to hike with my son. The weather was perfect, 45 and sunny. I love how the day was not centered around food, but activity. These little things matter and equal success. I am feeling like I am in a really good place mentally, food is on track. The scale is moving down.
My son is running a marathon in April. He has asked me if I would run a half with him. The only thing I have ever ran is my mouth! I walk a lot, but don't know if I am a runner. I think I need to start out baby steps with a 5 K or something. I watched Brittney Runs a Marathon last night for motivation. I thought the movie was terrible.
I am headed shopping today with my daughter Madeline. We are getting groceries for Thanksgiving and planning the menu. I think we have a Target run in our day too.
QOTD- I don't have a go-to recipe, I do always make cranberry orange relish. This year I am not making some of the higher carb things. I want to surround myself with good food. We are keeping it simple.
Food for today-
2 c. black coffee, miralax
1 egg, 2 oz ham
chomps in my purse
Lunch will be out. I am thinking Quodoba. I am going to ask for a scoop of meat with salsa
chicken cordon bleu and broccolini
Lots of water, hot tea and vitamins always. Hoping to get back from shopping in time to take the dogs for a walk with my daughter. Have a great day!

Happy Surgiversary!
If you decide to start running, I highly recommend using Jeff Galloway's apps and methods for his run/walk program. I found it so much better than anything else I tried!

Well, I am up and the coffee is brewing and the laundry is going. I am bracing myself for the stampede of little feet shortly. I have cleaning I had wanted to do before Thanksgiving but I am not sure all of it is going to get done while herding cats and nailing jello to a tree, (aka kids and life in general right now). I am probably going to order the rest of what people want through online grocery soon. It is very important to the kids and older teens that I make certain recipes in a NOT bariatric friendly way. I am okay with a holi-DAY as long as it doesn't stretch in to an extended period of time. They really like the alabama sweet potato casserole, stuffing, loaded mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, crescent rolls etc. as well as the turkey. I really won't be tempted to dive in eating with everything that has been going on so it will just be a busy couple of days. I will probably try to make some things the day ahead and then get up early to get started on the other things. The days are long but the years are short, right?!

I really need to get my meals on track. I have the excuses but I do have things I can have and I need to make a list and then plug in foods, amounts, etc. and eat them whether I am hungry or not. This is not time for intuitive eating.
I hope everyone has a great weekend before Thanksgiving!
Good morning, everybody!
I'm debating whether to make the effort to walk upstairs and change into sweatpants or go straight to Dunkin Donuts in my pajama bottoms. Its a dilemma.
I have a low-key day today. Drink coffee and catch up on my reading, go to the gym, hang my pull-up bar in the garage (got to keep Chrissy laughing) and watch college football.
JB - I know you said that you didn't get to read this week, so I will repeat my daughters menu for her tailgate brunch today: breakfast tacos, cookies and Red velvet flavored Baileys. Sic UT!
QOTD: 1) walk down the basement stairs, 2) get a couple of bottles of wine, 3) open the wine, 4) pour the wine. Have to remember to check that the glasses are clean.
Breakfast: sandwhich
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: chicken
snack: Light and Fit
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

Your daughter s definitely living the dream right there, lol!
And so are you, frankly... How did you get wine duty?

Good morning all! I still have the sniffles and a somewhat scratchy throat, but I think I'm starting to feel better! Been taking the antibiotic the doc prescribed and the Flonase she recommended. I am so glad because I have been wanting to finally meet my best friends newborn baby girl, but had to postpone because I didn't want to spread my germs.
I promise I will come back and post my pics from my trip to the biltmore! I just have to be somewhere in a few minutes so I'm pressed for time, but I did not forget! Also, I took so many pictures of that beautiful house that I need to decide which ones I want to post. Way too many to post them all! Lol
QOTD: Don't really have a go to recipe. My mom normally cooks the traditional stuff every year. I normally experiment with a new recipe every year. I just realized that this will be my first Thanksgiving post surgery and I'll admit I'm a little scared. I have no clue why as I'm not one to give into temptation. I think this year I may make a chocolate peanut butter pie. It's my brother and his girlfriends favorite. And what's leftover will go home with them. Not sure yet what else I'll make.
B: premier shake
B2: coffee w/Splenda
L: premier shake or L&F yogurt
S: more coffee w/Splenda
D: either another premier, L&F yogurt or some cottage cheese.
Trying to do this mostly liquid diet for a few days to ramp up my weight loss. Not sure how well this is going to work. Pray for me. Lol

I think that a lot of post ops experience some anxiety around food, especially around holidays. Maybe visualize the day and think about what you might plate yourself. Give yourself permission to put a small serving, (you don't have to clean your plate). Imagine yourself through the course of the event and think of ways you might enjoy the day that doesn't involve food, (catching up with relatives, sipping a drink, etc.) Remember it is a special day but it is just a day; don't allow the anxiety to steal your joy

Good Saturday morning friends!
I'm feeling pretty good mentally today. My body hurts like heck but I'll sure take a good mental health day! Sleep has been rough but my psychiatrist changed up some meds that'll hopefully help with that. Time will tell :)
not much in the plans today. I may go ahead and do a deep clean on the kitchen. Mop the floors and all that. We are only having a small amount of folks, 9 total.
qotd:no one recipe really. my mom makes stuffing as my grandma always did. It's never been my favorite dish but I made a cauliflower stuffing this year that'll really hit that spot. I make the desserts and I'll be making 3-4 pies this year. Pumpkin, a lower carb pumpkin no bake cheesecake, and a no bake chocolate cheesecake. I may make a crustless pumpkin pie that I could put up in the freezer when I get the hankering. My aunt who is coming always brings mashed potatoes, I've thought about making some mashed cauliflower but I'm not sure I need it so I most likely won't.
