What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
I get a day every summer when there are ants in the house. I set out an ant trap and they disappear in a few hours.
With the Venus Fly Trap we would have to have ants or worms available for it all the time. I am past the stage in my life where I would be willing to do that. The smell of canned cat food is gross enough for me.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Good morning JB and Menu Folks. Do you know what day it is??? LOL......We have had horrible weather as well, Winter has started much too early for me. We are having a Pot Luck Thanksgiving Dinner Tomorrow at work. We have many Laborer positions in our production area, I thought it would be nice to make up a couple of Thanksgiving Dinner baskets and draw a couple of names, the drawing is not open to exempt or office employees, so am very happy the anonymous donation will go to someone who can use it.
QOTD - I use emojis on FB, I have ony use Thumbs up sign or smiley face on my phone....LOL

Good morning everyone,
I went to see the show "The Bands Visit" , it was kind of meh. Other people enjoyed it, they gave them a standing ovation, I was not overly impressed. I might be wrong here, but i think they were trying to play off the success of the fantastic show "Come from Away" as it was a similar story line but it did not work for me. I should add that my mom and I have been Broadway series season tickets for nearly 20 years, so we have seen a lot of shows and I may be show-weary and a little too critical, I should also add that my mom passed away about 7 months ago so going this season is just not the same. I will say that I am always super impressed by the ability to go on stage night after night, city upon city, so even though the show itself was not my favorite, big props to the performers, as the singing and music was on point for sure.
B-coffee and half and half-not sure what else
L-veggie soup and tuna with mayo
D-Air fryer chicken breast and I think i am going to try and air fry some brussel sprouts
S-peanut butter cracker if needed.

I love theater, I used to subscribe to the broadway travel series but haven't in a few years because of too much work travel; I missed too many shows. Hoping to try again in a year or too. What's your favorite show? do you prefer musicals or dramas?
I imagine it's hard doing something you used to do with your mom but hopefully it will be fun again at some point!

thanks for your post I love musicals. Hard to pick a favorite, but if I had too, I would say Phantom or Wicked. I live in Cleveland and we have a pretty great theater district, its the largest one outside of NYC, i believe. Last season was really great, the best in recent memory and my favorite show was easily Come From Away, but there were a lot of good ones including dear Evan Hansen, school of rock, les mis, and miss saigon. This year we saw Summer, and the bands visit and I did not care for either of them. Next up is Mean Girls, Anastasia, Jesus Christ superstar, My fair lady and Frozen. I am looking forward to them. I am not sure if I will renew or not. I knew when I renewed this year that my mom would not make it and I was hesitant but my sister talked me into it and said she would go with me...she hasn't gone yet! I don't mind though, I have some friends who would never go to a show and I am happy to take them, but its costly so it will have to be a few shows that I really I want to see for me to renew.

Mornin' All!
I was planning to go to water aerobics this morning, but I got up too late for that. I could have made it to the class had I just rolled out of bed and gone, but I have my morning routine, so... I'll hit a yoga and/or a Zumba class later today. Plus, it's really foggy out now. I'll wait 'til this thing lifts.
one of the cats has to go to the vet's this afternoon for her annual physical, but other than that...nothing on tap.
accountability was good yesterday, down 1.5 lbs this morning (finally...). I want to get back down to 150, though (or better yet, below), so I have to be really committed for the next few weeks. It's so slow going once you're at a normal weight!!!
QOTD: I'm not very talented with my phone. I don't do much on it because it's so small. Other than texting, I basically just use it to shoot off an email or quickly check something on the Web if I'm out & about and away from my laptop. Otherwise, I use my laptop. SO....I don't use emojis on my phone. I should experiment with it, though. My 85-year-old mother uses emojis on HER phone, so certainly I should be capable of doing it, too! I'm such a luddite!!
4+ years out:
B: plain Greek yogurt with a homemade fruit compote (no added sugar), coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: salad with diced chicken breast and light dressing
AS: yogurt and/or raw veggies with ranch Greek yogurt. Or if I'm at risk of too much snacking, then one of those Slimfast Keto Fat Bombs (these things are great. They don't TASTE that great, but they're super filling...)
D: either a pork chop or half a Beyond burger
have a great day, everyone!!
Good morning JB and Menuers:
So I skipped the gym yesterday to go and get my flu shot. I picked up DH at 5:30 pm (already pitch black) cold and rainy and after shots we went to dinner. I had Turkey chili, and Grilled fish tacos. DH had french fries with a burger and I don't know what made me eat a few of them.. First time in 2 years. As much as I won't let it be a habit damn they were good. So everything you posted about today truly fit into my life yesterday. I hate the dark days and have SAD and I love Potatoes.
QOTD: I use a lot of clapping emojis here on OH because everyone is so amazing. Crying, laughing praying hands, thumbs up, thumbs down, kissy face, lips, bacon ,birthday cake, and mad face.
TSS: 1 year 11 months 9 days 139.4 (lowest was 137.6 lbs)
CB: Dark roast coffee with and SF pumpkin spice creamer with miralax and fiber
MS Jimmy Dean eggwich and oikos yogurt

D:Chicken curry w/spinach & tomatoes (recipe from last weeks recipes)

Everybody have a great day.
Brightest Blessings

I forgot how much I enjoyed the first season of Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt, JB! Thanks for reminding me!
I am currently on a 5 hour QBR (quarterly business review) - that is virtual. So we all had to dial in at 8 am Eastern (5 am for my California peeps!) and it is only half over! I did take an hour to wrap Christmas gifts while listening in, so that was productive. Ugh, what to buy Ethan (13)? The girls get all sorts of great "girl" gifts like hair stuff, make-up stuff, bath bombs, cute stuff like that...but a pre-teen boy? He really wants a laptop so that is his big gift but I would like him to have more than one item to open. So far he has like 5 cozy pajama pants and a sweatshirt (all from Clearance at Marshalls) which aren't really gifts - it's just that I buy things all year and save them for Christmas ha ha.
QOTD: this is hilarious. I can't believe Karen has never used an emoji! I mean, I don't have every contact in my phone saved with 17 emojis next to their name (like our 17 year old) but I do use emojis :) Mine are: kissy face, red heart, smiley, laughing face, thumbs up, laughing while crying face, two pink hearts, sad face, another laughing while crying face (this one not tilted), and a wink. I gotta step it up, JB - no food emojis in my recents!
Don't judge my menu today - I splurged on king crab at Costco and so now I get to eat off of these big ass claws for days!
B: iced coffee with half and half, 2 oz ever roast chicken, 2 oz king crab, 1 oz cheddar cheese - I am stuffed now
L: More crab, and a mini avocado mash 90 calories cup I got at Costco. They are not as delicious as fresh avocado but I spend wayyy too much money on avocados that look and feel fine but are stringy or rotten inside.
D: Harissa chicken with roasted vegetables Blue Apron weigh****chers meal
E: I mean, I "should" go to body pump but I have been a real slug lately...
I Salivate looking at the King Crab Legs every time I am in Costco! I have still not tried the lump crab from Sams club either, but think of you everytime I pass by it. One of these days!!!
Enjoy!!!
