What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?
I am almost 6 years out and trying to use regain and using WW too...I haven't lost any weight although I am doing Blue Apron WW meal delivery so my menu is nice and varied. I think the fact that they use more rice and couscous and grains, along with tons of veggies, makes things "filling" but not enough protein and too many carbs. I may stick with it for a few weeks but we shall see. The food is tasty for sure. I agree, I may have to just go back to protein protein protein. Even this far out, dense proteins fill me up :)
DCGirl- you are basically my WLS hero, you are just a few months ahead of me and early on I followed everything you did-hence the WW! I am really not a stalker, I promise.
I don't think WW really provides that much more than something like My Fitness pal does for free. I do get a discount on it through my employer and thought I would give it a try and see if i could kick in weight loss but so far nothing-to be fair, I am just starting out and only a few days in. At the very least, it got be back to tracking and being more honest with myself about what i am actually eating and I am going to try and continue to post on here more regularly.
Thanks for being an inspiration!
it does seem to work for some people. People are so different. I had several rounds of WW when I was pre-op, and I never had much luck with it. I think I'd do better with something like Keto and may gave that a shot. Fatty things really fill me up, and I often eat healthy fat (or fiber) when I'm trying to stop mindless snacking (and it usually works!!)
You are so sweet...that is so kind of you to say! I feel like a failure, not an inspiration...but thank you nonetheless :) I am with you, it has me tracking and logging, but it may be slightly too high carb for me. I will give it some time as well. I have a 3-month digital plan, and having three weekly meals delivered from Blue Apron with the points already calculated really helps.
Good luck with WW! :)
Awww love your pics, JB! I wish Maryann stopped in more often :)
Thank god it's Friday. How did this short week pack in so. many. meetings.
QOTD: Pizza and nachos. Hands down.
We only have Leah, who is 9, and her best friend this weekend. It's rare to only have 1 of the 3 kids. So tomorrow I am taking the girls downtown to meet a friend for a "fancy" lunch and then we are meeting a different friend and going to a kitten cafe! Squeeeee! You donate $35 a person to the animal rescue and you get 70 minutes to hang out with kittens who are up for adoption. If only I could bring like 5 of them home...alas, it's not allowed :( Kris thinks I am already too much of a cat lady lol.
B: Smoked trout from Trader Joes with 2 tbsp high protein whipped cream cheese (Aldi)
L: It's going to likely be a half salad half soup at Panera...have to work from there for early afternoon before I get the girls
D: Turkey burgers on the grill, plus a side of fries for Kris and the girls
S: Mini peppers with greek yogurt ranch dip
Have a wonderful weekend, all!
Oh...Nachos - how did I not think of you!
