Mornin' All!

it's snowing. Boo. We have to take DH's car over to the shop later on this morning (it's minor - oil change and maybe one other thing). We were going to go to the other side of town afterward so I can drop off some paperwork and go for coffee somewhere, but I think we may stick close to home until this snow stops and they get the streets cleared. I have a meeting tonight - but that's it. But with this continuing cough/cold, I wasn't planning to do anything else anyway.

accountability - healthy choices, but I went over my calorie range again. It's been a couple of days of "overage" and I'm feeling it this morning. I will NOT go over my range today!

QOTD: my father was in the reserves (Army). My father-in-law was ROTC during Vietnam (DH is much younger than I am) and had to serve, but since he had a PhD in chemical engineering, they had him working stateside developing chemical weapons (ugh...). My dad's sisters' husbands both served - one was a career officer in the army (lieutenant colonel) - he served for at least 20 years. Not sure about my grandfathers.

4 years 5 months out:

B: protein pumpkin pancakes with diced cooked apples, plain Greek yogurt, and SF maple syrup, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake, more coffee with half & half

L: dal and vegetable curry. Or fish tacos.

AS: L&F yogurt with berries and/or raw veggies with ranch Greek yogurt dip

D: whatever I don't have for lunch, I'll have for dinner

ES: I usually don't have an evening snack, but they'll have food at this meeting. If I can't resist, I'll get a plate of raw veggies

have a great day, all!

Good morning everyone! It was 78 degrees here on Saturday, about 65 yesterday and it snowed this morning -- and is still snowing. I really, really love Colorado in the fall/winter; it's always a surprise.

Today is a regular work day for me but we have two speakers coming in, one in the morning who is a Gold Star Dad and another to focus on what we can do to hire more female vets (and vets in general) by understanding how to convert their military skills to business skills. I'm interested in both.

QOTD - My grandfathers and one grandmother served in WWII; my dad, cousin, nephew were all in the Army; and I have one cousin that was in the Marines and one in the Air Force and my youngest sister is currently in the Air Force.

Menu today

Coffee + half and half X3

cottage cheese

2 oz cheese

Real Good Foods stuffed pasta (I have not tried this before)

Protein Bar

L&F greek

Enjoy the day everyone!

Morning all and Happy holiday to those of you who didn't have to commute this morning!

Qotd: most of my relatives we're pacifists, so no veterans but my grandfathers, father and stepfather did do public service.

Also wanted to share that my new county passed a law against discrimination based on ethnic hair styles: https://wamu.org/story/19/11/08/montgomery-county-bans-discr imination-against-natural-hairstyles/

Very proud!

I still don't have the results from my 24 hr heart monitor but my doctor has decided that my cardiac, fainting and exhaustion symptoms are related to my body's utter exhaustion from the stress of the last few months+. He has suggested more vitamins ( including CoQ10, Riboflavin, more iron plus C), acupuncture for my muscle pain and headaches and a muscle relaxant to help improve my sleep. I'm on board with all but the muscle relaxant because DW sometimes wanders and falls at night. I don't want to be too unconscious.

Weight is slowly coming down with a bit more activity. Still taking it gently though.

Looks like we're in for cold, ice and snow tonight into tomorrow.

Take care everyone!

Hey folks! officially I was off today- but I went I to work for a few hours. It was supposed to be a team effort, but my team deserted me. I'm glad I set a time and stuck to it.

Seems like I've got a groin injury. My left leg is a 6 out of 10 pain if I climb steps, or draw my knee up in any fashion. Just walking is minor pain- but those other actions- ouch. Timing couldn't be worse- race is in 12 days. I've done my training and could very well just rest- but I would like to continue with my regular runs. No idea where this came from, I ran 3 miles this morning just fine. Ugh.

Qotd: I have no immediate (blood) family that has served. My FIL is a vet though, and one of my nieces is enlisted currently. Theres a Whole host of friends and kids if friends that I know whose served too.

m1: Greek yogurt and berries

meal 2: Greek yogurt, berries and an apple (yogurt was set to expire so...)

m3: ham & cheese on potato hamburger roll

M4: was supposed to be steak but pain has my appetite low. Ate an eggo and am calling it a night. Saving steak for tomorrow- yum.
