I will be following your trip and feedback; a friend and I are doing a 4 day music festival at HardRock ***** Cana at the end of Feb. I'm hoping to get in some whale watching then. I stayed at a Dreams in Tulum years ago, really like the brand.

I am not tech savvy enough for before/after photos in my post but I think I might have a before in my profile. I will have to double check.
I was pretty open about my WLS. I had previously worked on projects/non profit health advocacy that focused on improved health outcomes through transparency. I thought maybe I could bring some education and transparency and maybe reduce some stigma. My results were mixed. I really tried to do all the right things and things did not go as expected. I am always careful to frame the dialogue correctly, and share that it was not bariatric surgery that caused my issues per se but an interaction of American medicine and misinformation, (iatrogenic deaths are a pretty large thing in America, which should be a HUGE conversation IMO). I let people know I do not regret bariatric surgery and I let them see my successes and struggles so they know that it is not "the easy way out" and we all must make choices that work for us at the end of the day but we must make them with accurate information not fear or prejudice or stigma. At times I wish I had just remained anonymous because it would have been easier for me; however, I feel that would have been selfish on my part. If my experience can help anyone have a better life I feel it is up to me to lay it out there with the best of intentions. I realize this is a highly personal decision.

I am recovering from the oral surgery and am currently residing in swell hell. I never realized my face could swell this much. I am trying out a grocery delivery service because I am running low on staples and things that I can try to eat, (like light and fit, etc.). The store is running a promo on free delivery on the first 3 orders and then there is a new promotion after that where they have the option of either a monthly or yearly delivery fee or just a $7.95 per order fee. This could be life changing for me, lol. Time, energy and potential stress would totally make this worth the fee and right now I am not able to go anywhere so this is an incredible blessing.
I have tried quite a few services and like certain things about each. It helps me get out of a cooking rut, and try new things. I have done Dinnerly (loved) and EveryPlate (not amazing, not enough protein). I am about to try Blue Apron because they have partnered with WW and provide WW friendly meals and tell you the points! It's worth the money to get ingredients and recipes sent - way cheaper than eating out for sure!
Sorry you're in swell hell. That is ROUGH.
I've used instacart last year after my surgery. I really liked it because I shopped Aldi on line and they brought it to my house. The only thing they did on out of stock items they replaced with other items but I am sure you can mark no replacement.

OMG love all the pics. Julia, you are so tiny! Erin, my god you do look like a teenager! Maddy Moe and Jim and Chrissy, you all look amazing. Mike - those moose!!! I have never seen a moose. My god! Did I miss anyone else? Oh yes, Julia, I lived in Prague for a year - isn't it a magical city?!
My pic today is a before (351 day of surgery) next to my lowest, and then two weeks ago, in London. I am not where I got to nor where I want to be, but it's a healthier improvement, for sure!
It's SO good to be home, and I have a grocery list and a good meal plan for the weekend!
B: iced coffee with half and half and sugar-free hazelnut syrup, then in a while I will have two hard-boiled eggs mashed into 1/2 cup of 2% cottage cheese with everything but the bagel seasoning
L: Will be working from Panera so either a soup and half salad or full salad (will look up options in my WW app)
D: crab cakes! Chicken tenders on the grill and fries for fam.
We have Monday off!!! So it's a long weekend woohoo. I want to do some shopping on Monday but I have all this anxiety that there will be ah-mazing deals on Cash Back Day and Black Friday...
