Poison oak and a simultaneous bee sting - Ouch!!! Thank goodness you made it to safety without needing 911! I once was stung multiple times when horseback riding, but my worst sting was when I stepped, barefoot, on a bee (or hornet, yellowjacket, wasp) and it retaliated by burying its stinger in my instep. Then I made it all worse by trying to squeeze the stinger out rather than plucking it out carefully with tweezers, thereby ensuring that all of the venom remained in my foot. Anyway, I'm glad you are ok and I hope the sting and poison oak soon heal!

Oh man, Nature was a naughty B yesterday wasn't She? I am glad you are ok. I would have freaked out too but it sounds like you rose above it and were a real trooper. I hope today is better.
Good morning, everybody!
I'm back from Florida. I think that was my last work travel for the year and I am happy to be in place for the next six weeks or so. Most of my days were spent in a hotel/conference center, so I didn't really get to enjoy the weather very much, but it was nice not to have to wear a coat.
I did read while was away. Cassie - congrats on the house, Karen good to see you.
I did a local 5-K on Sunday and noticed something that I have noticed before. Within a mile, I pass people a bunch of people who are walking. The races always start people by expected times. And there are huge banners identifying expected times. I usually start in the 9-10 or 10-11 section.
Which means that there are people who (a) can't run a mile without stopping, but (b) start themselves in the sub 8 minute mile category. These guys crack me up. Do they think "Roger Bannister ran a sub 4 minute mile and that was a big deal, so I'm about twice as slow as that?" Do they think that all the cute people are at the front of the line? Maybe they just think that 7's and 8's are auspicious.
Anyways, working from home today because I have to be somewhere in the burbs at 6:00.
QOTD: I usually wake up early and force myself to stay in bed until at least 5:00 because I don't want to wake Marilyn any earlier than that.
Breakfast: Leftover pulled pork
Snack: protein bar
Lunch: maybe pulled pork again
snack: light and fit
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

You guys... following our directionally challenged conversation from earlier this week, I have an embarrassing story to share!
You know how I have been walking to work instead of taking the bus? Well, I have starting to get a little more adventurous and take different streets to change up the route. Today, I took a teeny side street that I thought would spill me back out onto the main street but it never did! I walked in circles for 20 minutes trying to orient myself but never found where I was looking for.
Luckily, I knew the direction to walk to get to work, so I made it here fine, but I never found the route I was looking for, despite knowing I must have only been a block away.
Stupid Boston with our crazy streets that are not in blocks!
