Reading about how your coworkers surprising you for your birthday in such a sweet way made my heart so happy. You must be a wonderful person to inspire such friendship from your coworkers. $5000 sounds like a super sweet treat compared to the pound cake and cupcakes ;) Great job staying on track! (I hope it was a wonderful birthday)
Hello menuers and happy jr Friday!
JB - that meme is hilarious! I'm sort of a repetitive kind of person so I might eat the same thing over and over, because I'm too lazy to prep.
I had a couple of minor snafus yesterday during my run that I think are worthwhile telling you about. If you recall I have two run loops; one is a 6.25 miles in the forest, and the other is a 4.25 in the "uplands" which is very hilly - good for glutes- and it's mostly in residential areas but it has about a mile in a woodsy area. I practically go off road, run through this woodsy are and end up at the top of the hill in another neighborhood. To make a long story short, while in the woodsy area I got stung by a bee/wasp/yellow jacket. I never know which one is which. I was running and all of a sudden I felt the sting behind my knee. While jumping on one foot and holding my other leg I brushed against a bushel of poison oak, double whammy. Usually I'm not worried about being stung by a bee (I've been stung before and no major reaction) but it so happens that about a month ago my SIL got stung by a yellow jacket while running and she was lucky that she was running with a partner. Because her throat started to close up and she had a hard time breathing. Her partner ran down out of the woods (no cell reception in the forest) and called 911. They gave her one of those epi-pens. All this to tell you once I got stung I thought shoot what if I go into shock here? No running partner, the area is so secluded that I hardly see anybody while running, so I started panicking. I couldn't go back so I kept running until I got to civilized area with houses. I figured if something happens at least I can knock on somebody's door. Obviously nothing happened and I ran back home. DH pulled out the thingy-majig that was still stuck behind my knee. So now I have a bee sting behind right leg and a huge welt on my left leg from poison oak. I am looking forward to go to the gym today, all inside and no outdoor danger.
QOTD1: I wake up with my alarm aNd when it goes off I'm up and out of the bed. I'm the type of chipper morning person that the rest of my family hates.
QOTD2: I am so bad and un-creative with names. It shows both with my business and my Etsy store. Sorry, I can't be of any help. But if I think of something smart and wood related I'll come back and post.
My meals yesterday:
- B: coffee ,coffee, and more coffee
- L: chaffles - I must be doing them wrong because I don't like them. Every time I make them I hope it's the time I like them but nope!
- S: parm cheese and a HUGE cup of tea with SF pumpkin cheesecake syrup = HEAVEN
- D: impossible meat veggie burger (not that impressed with it) and green collard (who on good god's earth said let's try eating collards?)
Have a great day, everybody.

Eek, that is scary! SO glad you are okay!
I'd imagine your doctor would be fine with giving you an epipen to keep with you, just in case, if you explain that you are running alone with no cell service Poison Oak is the WORST. Don't let it spread!
How are you making your chaffles? I have had a few recipes that are not too good, but I'm generally a fan!
- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)
I do g think they would give me an epi-pen considering I haven't had a reaction. Let's hope I won't develop an allergy in the future. So far so good.
This is the keto recipe I make :
- 2 Eggs
- 2 ounce grated Cheese
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- SF syrup on top
I guess the final product is not worth my time. It's not baaaaad, but it's kinda meh!

No I really think he might give you one proactively! Two anecdotes: 1) I had a very very slight reaction to something once and he gave it to me and said I can't harm myself by using it unnecessarily so it's better to have it on hand. 2) My friend has a brood of kids (5) and one has had a severe reaction to a bee sting. Two of them have been stung and had no reaction. But the doc gave her pens for the two that haven't been stung yet as a precaution.
Try this for chaffles:
1 egg & 1/2 c shredded mozz.
that's it.. it's easy and pretty tasty!

I hate being stung. Not allergic just hate the feeling. Enjoy the gym today. This just put a nail in it for me. I will always be a gym girl and never a runner or outdoorsy kinda exerciser.
