What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 11/5/19 4:14 am
Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday! JB, your drive does not sound like fun; hopefully, it won't be too bad and maybe the rain will keep people off the roads? I know that's unlikely!
QOTD - hate sticky hands!
Update on me, spent most of yesterday at the local hospital and I met a surgeon that doesn't jump straight to surgery - yay! He agrees that I have a bile stricture but thinks that my issue on Thursday was probably because of a stone passing through one of the ducts (made worse by the stricture) and since the pain has lessened thinks that monitor and manage is ok for now. If I don't have any more episodes by the weekend and no fever, all travel restrictions are lifted and they'll continue to monitor my liver functions -- he says there could be something liver related or it could just be irritated due to the blockage. Also said that even though endoscopic is harder with the re-arranged guts, he would go that route first before moving to percutaneous or open surgery -- so that's a relief too. Apparently, to get to our bile ducts they have to go a long route into to liver bu there are "climbing balloons" that make it possible...what he described sounded like balloon inchworms, lol.
I'm headed to the office as soon as I finish this update and I've had coffee X 2 with SF pumpkin syrup and half and half; my third is in the to go cup. I also have some tea and an emergen-c for later today -- I usually take an emergenC every day I travel as well as the day before and after and being at the hospital with the sick people, I'm treating it the same way. I'm convinced it's more psychological than medical but hey, the placebo effect is a thing!
Eats going to the office with me will be:
3 oz ever roast deli chicken, .8 oz sharp cheddar, 3 pickle slices
1 cheese stick
Carbmaster cottage cheese
Ellie Quark
Not sure about dinner/snack, depends on hunger when I get home
Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!

Your surgeon sounds like he knows what he's doing. Glad he is putting off any surgery at this time. I'll pray it stays at bay so it doesn't need to happen in the future either. Lots of prays.
