What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?

Hello my RnY clan! Happy Monday!

I'm still slightly up on the scale but have dropped 2 pounds so I'm heading in the right direction, and haven't far to go. I had gotten a bit lazy about weighing and tracking my food, though I still religiously weighed myself every morning. I realized once again that the control habits work and are worth their payoff, and so am back to daily My Fitness Pal, and recording every bite. My calorie goal is set to 1200, with another 50 calories allowed for coffee creamer or cashew milk. This should keep me solidly in the zone.

I am shaking ground Pumpkin Pie Spice into every mug of coffee and tea I have - it's so good! Today I'm all out of syrups so it's time for a run to Tuesday Morning. I buy a dozen or more bottles at a time, and the cashiers always ask if I own a cafe'.

QOTD: One of my grade school teachers would have the class stand up, then turn in the directions she specified, over and over. It was fun and it woke us all up. As a result, I rarely get confused about directions providing I know where one of the compass points is when I start off. If not, I use the compass on my phone, otherwise "Turn East on Grand Boulevard" means nothing and I just take a stab at left or right, and make a U-turn if necessary. But from then on I'm usually pretty oriented, even without my phone.

First: tea, pumpkin pie spice, cashew milk - several huge mugs

B: ham, a little cheese

L: tuna, hard boiled egg, grape tomatoes

D: scrambled eggs, ham

Have a wonderful day, my friends!

QOTD- I have no sense of direction, I was probably in my 20's before I figured out if you know one direction you can figure them all out. Now I work with essentially maps all day, and North is always up so I know my directions. As a cable splicer being in a manhole and trying to figure out the directions was a trick, but all you really needed to know is which way is the Central Office or where the feed comes from. Still directionally challenged and probably always will be.

I didn't get enough done over the weekend, but do you ever get it all done? Most of the leaves have fallen, only the large leaf maples seem to be holding on. I wish they would all drop so I can get rid of them. There's not enough room in my yard debris bin so I just mowed the lawn which shredded the leaves and now the bin is almost full. I didn't want to use the leaf blower, it reverses and has a bag to collect the leaves in, but it seemed a waste when the bin was mostly full anyway. Or at least that was the excuse I used.

My roommate is in the soft food stage, but as a diabetic he's added in carbs that I wouldn't have. I told him that he needs to weigh and measure everything, document it and talk to his nutritionist about it. I don't have the expertise to tell him what to do. He's eating crackers and fried foods that I wouldn't touch, but he needs to figure it out. If anyone is a diabetic how did you deal with the need to have carbs with your meals? Or does he even need them?

I hate the time change, but gaining an hour isn't so bad. Oregon & Washington passed bills to not change the time but we're held up by California. Winter is so dreary anyway, it honestly doesn't matter what the clock says it is dark when you get up and dark when you come home from work...

Have a great day everyone!

I don't think anyone needs carbs, but if he is Type One diabetic taking insulin, would need to work with his doctor on how many carbs to eat. Most Type Two diabetics go into remission after weight loss surgery and do not need diabetic medicines or carbs.
