What's on your HALLOWEEN Menu, RNYers?
Mornin' All!
down another 0.8 lbs this morning. Only another half pound before I'm back to my pre-trip weight. YAY!! Tonight is my niece's birthday dinner at a pizza place, so I'll stick to one piece so my weight's not back up tomorrow.
I was going to go to the lab this morning for an osteoporosis-related test, but the roads are slick and snow-covered, so I think I'll wait until tomorrow morning (it's a fasting test, so I have to go in the morning). Hopefully things will clear off later this morning so I can go out and do other things - like go to the gym.
QOTD: we bought candy the first couple of years we lived here (20+ years ago), but we only got about five trick-or-treaters. Everyone on our street and in the immediate vicinity is middle-aged or older, with no kids at home. SO...we gave up. We'd leave the lights off and go out to dinner or a movie (scrooges!!). My neighbor told me yesterday that there are now kids who come over from another neighborhood to trick-or-treat, but I'm not going to start participating - I don't need candy lying around. Plus we can't be around tonight anyway because of the aforementioned pizza dinner.
accountability was good yesterday
4 years 4 months out:
B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and some kind of SF fruit compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: either dal or sushi
AS: L&F yogurt or raw veggies with ranch Greek yogurt dip
D: one piece of pizza. Maybe a side salad
ex: something! Either low-impact Zumba or water aerobics.
have a great day, everyone!
Good morning JB and Menu crew. Happy Halloween. We did not purchase any chocolate this year, mini bags of cheese balls, mini rice krispie treats and smarties. I am not a huge fan of any of those items, so no fear of grazing.
QOTD - we get hundreds as well. We live in a neighborhood that is set up perfectly for trick or treating, a 1/2 mile loop, people come from all over the area so they can park and walk with their kids. Is a good safe area for young kids...
B - Premier Protein shake
S - ham roll up
L - smoked pulled pork salad with cheese
S - cukes and dip
D - Wings and salad.
E - night off.

G'morning and Happy Halloween!
Great weather here so perfect for trick or treaters. We have had a party at our house since we moved here about 18 years ago, but this year is the first year we won't have a party. Kids have grown, DS is grumpy and doesn't want our home to be home base for his friends going trick or treating. So I threw my arms up and said the heck with it. So this year I'll just hand out candy and tell parents to cherish their little ones.
QOTD: we have a neighborhood like Mike's. 3-4 streets that parents literally drop their kids by the truck load. I go through 4 Costco size bags of candies in a matter of two hours. But it's so fun and the kids really enjoy it. One year I was dressed as a witch and stood outside our driveway with a cauldron full of dry ice and a little mannequin upside down in the cauldron so you could see only his legs. I actually think I scared the little ones but I had a blast. Did I mention Halloween is my favorite holiday? :^)
My meals yesterday:
- B: Coffee, coffee, and more coffee
- L: Costco Chicken skewers
- S: Greek yogurt, hb egg, parm cheese
- D: stuffed bell pepper (ground turkey, eggs and cheese)
Have a great and safe Halloween. For those of you having "nice" kids at home enjoy them!

I always make sure I have beer and single serve wine and special chocolate for the parents who brave the weather. This year's adult candy is the Reese's Take 5 combo that's out.

Beer and wine for the parents is really nice. I live in a neighborhood of mostly retired folks and very few kids. We still get about 500 trick or treaters who come in cars from other parts of town and are driven from house to house.
I turn the lights off and leave.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Good morning, all! My city is celebrating - the Washington Nationals won the World Series last night! I am so not into baseball but I am happy for all my happy neighbors and friends. They are having a parade on Saturday but we are going to the Michigan vs. Maryland football game so we will miss that.
QOTD: Not as many as I would think. We have a neighborhood with a lot of kids, but more teenagers, I would say. We get some trick or treaters and I give them each a handful of candy and then as the night ends, I give multiple handfuls. I over buy, just in case. I love seeing all the really little kids in their adorable costumes. It's supposed to rain tonight so we shall see when that starts.
I have a ridiculously busy day today. I ended up working until 9 last night because I took a break around lunch and...leased a car lol. We got a call from our sales guy that they have great incentives, ending today, come on in...we thought why not, and we left with the same car (Infiniti QX60) as before, but 3 years newer, extra features, in a new color, for not much more per month and hardly any money down. I think they took a loss on this sale but hey, our new car is pretty awesome :)
I am digging the weigh****chers app - I love the puzzle of figuring out how many no point foods I can eat. Eggs, skinless chicken breast, tuna in water, veggies...many things are zero points. I am also down 2 lbs which makes me feel good.
Today's menu:
B: Drinking my iced coffee with sugar-free hazelnut syrup and 1/4 cup milk (no more cream for me)
L: Leftover tuna with olive oil, feta cheese, green olives, artichokes, roasted red peppers
D: I am making sweet chili chicken breast over rice for Kris (didn't make last night because we didn't have lunch until like 5 pm so we skipped dinner) and I may have sautéed shrimp (zero points!)
E: Nothing. Too much work today and have to run to grocery store at some point and then hand out candy :)
Have a fab day, all!
Happy Halloween y'all!!!
QOTD - We get literally none. We have a 100 year old farmhouse, and it's on about an acre, smack dab in the middle of a busy street. However, you have to open a pedestrian gate and I don't think kids are too keen about coming up to our place. Last two Halloweens we stood out at the fence, but only got like 2 kids, and it rained both times. Eh.
Breakfast - Protein oatmeal, cranberry and almond with almond milk. Two veggie sausages
Lunch - Up in the air, need to find something
Snack - fruit smoothie (frozen fruit with water)
Dinner - Clean out fridge night! Pasta, stroganoff sauce, bean taco, who knows??
I hope you all have a great day! I brought donuts for my team and...I'm just not gonna touch them. Now had I brought tacos...game ON!
