What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
I have just been looking at these! I was at my friend's place the other night and had it thrown over my legs while we were visiting and I LOVED it. I don't want it to sleep, I just want a throw size to use when watching tv or reading. They seem to be really expensive though - any recommendations of where to get one?
Thanks for all of the great info!!

They are pricey to be sure! I got mine on zullily and I see them on sale at kohl's a lot. Amazon has a brand called sensacalm that seems to make the lap sized ones your looking for!

Is this why I find the dental X-Ray so relaxing?

Hello my RnY clan! I've missed you, and it's good to catch up.
It is cold here today - I woke up at 5:30 and it was 34 degrees outside. Brrrr! Yesterday was cold too - it gave me a chance to wear my cashmere cape with the fox collar. Though it is glamorous and gorgeous, I will never buy fur again - even vintage, which I have to date justified. I feel too uncomfortably aware of the animal having given it's life for such an unkind purpose, and it's bad enough that I am such a carnivore. But I will wear what I have, I guess, at least occasionally. It's either that, or ceremonially bury the garments, which seems perhaps even more arrogant and wasteful.
My son and his wife are in the process of buying their first home! So exciting. Providing all goes well with the inspection and the appraisal is ok, they will be homeowners by Thanksgiving! I'm really happy for them.
I am a creature of habit as far as food is concerned. Over the past while I have been eating too much cheese, and doing so far too often. I was up 3 pounds! Today I'm down one pound, so at least it's moving in the right direction. Anyway, I am off cheese for at least a week if not longer - an ounce is fine as part of my daily intake, 6 ounces is definitely not, and I was starting to eat the entire wedge. I am weaning myself off of that appetite and desire. It's chicken, fish, meat, yogurt and veggies for me! I can feel my craving for the high savory fat of cheese becoming less demanding, thank goodness. It's interesting though - to see how easily habits and cravings can develop and interact. Here's to freedom from food compulsions!
QOTD: I'm an herbalist - I studied for a few years with an extraordinary and amazing teacher. I could attend to a fair amount of first aid if necessary, botanically. Not all of course! But some. I can lay a fire but have yet to successfully start one without matches or a lighter, though I've tried. I know that burrowing into leaves and snow is more insulating than remaining on top. But overall I hope to avoid ever being in the position of having to survive in adverse wilderness cir****tances.
I bought myself a little tin of Pumpkin Pie Spice (100% spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves) and have been adding it to my coffee and tea. For a while I was adding SF holiday-flavored creamers (Pumpkin Spice, Peppermint Mocha), but have cut that out. It is delish, but pure empty calories, and the spice with cashew milk and SF syrup is every bit as yummy.
First: coffee, and tea, with cashew milk and SF syrup.
