What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
on 10/30/19 1:54 am
Well, here we are at another Hump Day and this one is HALLOWEEN EVE!! I have no idea what is wrong with me, but I have been sleeping sooooo poorly this week. I fall asleep hard then wake up every 30 minutes and toss and turn. Last year, I knew it was stress and I couldn't "turn off" my brain. But I am not stressed at all about anything in my life right now... it's ridiculous... The only thing I wonder is whether I might be a little dehydrated? I haven't been good about keeping up with water this week.
Accountability: Great all day, but then let's not discuss the things I ate after 7pm.
QOTD: Do you have any survival skills? Could you survive in the wilderness? Nope nope nope. I got nothing. I think I'd last an afternoon (at best) by myself. I hope a nice bear family might take me in and take care of me :)
Exercise: I keep forgetting to update the October 50 mile challenge tracker , because I lost the link and have been too lazy to back into the thread to find it... but I'm keeping track, and nailed it! :)

G'morning JB & Menu family,
We finally have had power for more than 12 hours. What a relief and what a disaster when you don't have power. I'm not even talking about my family who survived and it was no big deal but I didn't realize that people who need their cpap for sleeping were in big trouble. Our local Costco had set up tents with chargers for these people. Never knew how hard it is. It's so weird when there is no power, our cell and wifi was also down so we were completely cut off. We had to go 3-4 towns down or up to get some cell reception. Never realized how dependent we are and how everything is power/cell related. You wanna watch the news, hear the radio, know the weather, look up something online, in our case even cooking...you need power. So we were completely power-less, no pun intended. The only good thing that came out of this was the amount of board games we played and I found out DS is ruthless in monopoly. He would be a MEAN landlord.
Halloween is tomorrow and I can't wait for all this chocolate to be doled out because for me it's like being an alcoholic in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. I try to stay away from them but it is so hard! You would say well do t buy all this chocolate but we are in a neighborhood that is very kid friendly and Halloween is a big deal with all the houses decorated and kids from other areas come here trick or treating, so we gotta be ready. In short, JB, your meme is very much me!
Accountability: not 1, not 2, not 3, but FIVE mini chocolates. Can I blame the lack of power? (See what I did there? ;)
QOTD: none! Unless you count my willingness to eat so much chocolate to go into coma then any animal can come and eat me and I wouldn't feel it!
My meals yesterday:
B: Costco egg bites
L: tuna & hb eggs
S; epic chicken sriracha
D: chicken fajita at a Mexican restaurant, no beans, no rice, no tortillas
extra snacks : see Accountability :(
Happy hump day everyone.

I have been thinking of you and everyone in the path of this destructive fire. I can't imagine being without power for so long.
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Oh no Sheila, I am so sorry to hear about what is happening in California. How scary. I am glad you're "only" suffering with lack of power. I hadn't even thought about people *****quire power for medical reasons. So have you had to throw away every single thing in your fridge and freezer? I would be SO upset if I had to get rid of all my food since I shop at Costco and have absurd quantities of things...
Stay safe and enjoy the forced family time - maybe that's the one good thing about this :)
We had looked up how to keep your fridge and freezer cold in a power outage and followed instructions. Practically tons of ice and not opening the fridge/freezer. So we didn't lose any food. Another day and maybe we would have. We just kept recycling the ice.
