What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?

My roommate is still in the hospital expected to stay for at least another week. Today is day 19 of what was supposed to be a 1-2 night stay. He is much more mobile and once they wean him off of the dilaudid he should be good to go home.

I took a mental health day yesterday, I slept really poorly and could not force myself to go to work. I tried to go back to sleep by my cat did not cooperate. I went to the hospital and was wanting to get in a movie since I hadn't been in awhile. Someone I work with told me Joker was the best movie that they had seen this year. Boy do our tastes not agree. I was so upset by the movie, I cringed most of the way through it and I really should have walked out, but I thought it would get better. It didn't. I hated it and would not recommend it to anyone. I had to talk to my friend to try to talk myself down, I was afraid I would have nightmares from it. I tried to watch something else to get it out of my head, which wasn't entirely successful, but fortunately I didn't have any nightmares.

Have a great day everyone!

QOTD:

1. Bought a pretty pink-purple patterned shirt from the misses (!!) department yesterday!

2. I've recently completed a crocheted Christmas gift project, and yesterday started on my last crocheted item for the season (that I know of!)

3. I found a great deal on crimini mushrooms yesterday - which I'm currently eating for breakfast

4. Found out that my aloe plant has a new pup

Despite the best of intentions, I have not been on because I haven't been able to meal-plan. Well, I can create a plan, but my finicky, sensitive stomach won't follow it. I'm 3.5 months out now, and still with several restrictions (from the stomach, not the team). On the positive side, I'm 90 pounds down already. So, I figure I'll put down what I ate yesterday, in case there's any useful advice.

B: 1 can V8, 1/2c. beef chili

L: 1c. Green salad with raspberry vinaigrette

D: 1/4c. Homemade Lentil, Bean, and tomato curry

Lots of water

Took all of my supplements

Walk in the evening

Welcome! Sounds like you are doing great with the weight loss!

Are you getting in enough protein? At this stage post-op you've gotta be pushing protein in to get between 70g - 90g a day!

If you are looking for soft, high protein ideas, I highly suggest going to EggFace's RNY recipe blog and looking for the soft food recipes she has there.

Thank you. I try to get as much protein as I can. I do still drink protein shakes to boost my protein intake on days when my tummy is sensitive. Unfortunately, my tummy does not tolerate either poultry or eggs, or soy products. :( I am glad that I can tolerate beef products and protein shakes. And I love Eggface's blog. :)
