What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
on 10/21/19 1:15 am
Hey Kids, Happy Monday! Hope no one had demons haunting them this weekend. Mine showed up Saturday night in the form of pizza, and hung around all day while I ate leftovers. I need to get serious about getting back to Keto. Starting....now!
Except, can we talk about this?? I am not sure an ad has tempted me more in my life, haha! Why can't these be Keto friendly???
QOTD: When was the first time you were cognizant of Weight Loss Surgery? I had heard of it before this, but when Al Roker had it, it was the first time that I really spent any time wondering about it.
I am DOING THIS 100% today (dammit!):
- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)
Good morning, everybody!
Yesterday was actually a pretty good day, health wise. Even at the game last night, all that I had was coffee. Friday was demon day and they took the form of popcorn and coconut chia pudding.
Unfortunately, the coffee was caffineated and kept me up half the night. That and stress from work are showing upon my blood pressure and sugar this morning.
QOTD: Former Patriots assistant coach Charlie Weiss is the first person who got me curious about it. I am glad that I didn't move forward at the time, because back then it was the band that was being pushed. I had known about Al Roker also but the surgery seemed so exotic when he did it that it never connected as something that I would or could do.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Chicken
Snack: Light and Fit
Dinner: Bratwurst
Have a great day, all!

I'll pass on those potato chips JB. I like chips, don't get me wrong, just not flavored chips.
This weekend flew by and here we are starting a new week. Saturday we ran around all day and ate our way through Lancaster County. Sunday we stayed in our pajamas all day and it was wonderful. Today I meet with the surgeon this afternoon to make some decisions concerning my shoulder. The cortisone injection has really helped but I am still in pain.
B: protein shake
L: buddig turkey and Honeycrisp apple
D: taco soup with a sprinkle of cheese, red onion and sour cream
S; protein bar
My menu is really not planned because the doctor is triple booked and I am kind of guessing what will happen today. Have a great Monday!

So sorry about your shoulder issues. I had a torn labrum and the pain and rehab were miserable. Take good care of yourself.

Good morning menu friends! No walk for Miss Lily and I as it is pouring. She is sleeping huddled in the shower post melatonin (children's strength) because of thunder and lightning. It makes me sad to see her so terrified but the melatonin and thunder shirt do seem to help. We also got one of the diffusers that sends out pheromones and it stays plugged in all the time. Yes,Miss Lily is spoiled and we'll try anything that might help her feel safe. The rain is supposed to leave this afternoon so hopefully we can get a good long walk in after work this evening. QOTD I had heard of it about 10 years ago but it took me about 3 years to commit. It took having to go on insulin to push me to take that step. Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 121. Here's the food plan for the day B 2 protein pancakes with sugar free syrup (couldn't eat all 3)L 3/4 c cheesy broccoli soup D 4 oz. pinwheel steak from last night as we had eggs and sausage instead last night. Have a great day full of healthy choices everyone!
