Helllloooooo everyone! Happy Saturday! What are you all up to this weekend? Not much for me. I originally thought I would have my parents here all weekend, but they got their power back on after the storm, so they didn't come after all. So now I don't really have much of a plan, and I am not complaining... My only plans are for a hair appointment this afternoon and shopping with a friend t a giant amazing outlet mall after that. I am hoping to find some good deals on winter sweaters!

Accountability: 2 days in a row of perfection.

QOTD: Do you prefer baking or cooking? I love baking and feel like I intuitively understand how to fix a recipe, whereas with cooking I can only follow a recipe and never improvise.

I so agree about the toaster. I love things toasted... HATE the toaster!!!

I am wide awake on a morning I could have slept in and I can only partially blame the cats. I am deeply grateful that I decided to go to my doctor yesterday, just in case. Blood work this morning but because of my exhaustion (who wouldn't be!) the PA decided to do an EKG. The results weren't good and I see a cardiologist on the 30th. My doctor said probably a heart cath. I am angry beyond words! I have lost and maintained my weight. I exercise and eat fairly healthy. I'm in the best shape of my life and now this!!! Grateful that I went for a check-up, enraged at the results!

So I'm fasting this morning and no idea what to eat or what to do until the 30th. Doctor says I can lift but not sure if I should. Also my doctor suggested taking aspirin or a blood thinner but that's a no no. Argh!!!

In case you missed it, here is my preferred method of detox:

Words cannot convey my empathy for all the emotional wrapped up in this new situation you are faced with. I am so sorry. When I find myself in this type of situation one thing that helps me is reminding myself how much more difficult it would be if I was still morbidly obese. It IS hard though. I hope you shower yourself with self care in the meantime. I am grateful your little friend is there to give you some emotional support too. ((gentle hugs))

Driving back from the game last night I was thinking that Janet's been back a couple of weeks and I've been too busy to even say "Hi" to her. So I apologize about that.

I am glad that you decided to go in to the doctor. I'm sure its tough waiting until the 30th to hear what the next steps are, but maybe in a way that is good news because you don't need to be treated immediately?

Try not to feel angry, the stress will only make things worse. I know that is easier said than done.

Love your picture,Janet. Sorry to hear about the results at the doctor but the fact is our obesity had an impact on our body. Not one single thing we can do about that as it's the past. In the now we focus on doing our best to stay healthy and keep with our new habits. A heart cath is no big deal. I've had one and it was actually fascinating. The cardiologist asked if I wanted to see what he sees and turned a screen so I could watch. The body sure is an amazing machine! Any other steps needed will be easier because you are extremely fit now. It may even be as simple as a pill--who knows. Try not to worry and spend lots of kitty time!

2 days in a ROW? Girl, you GOT this~! =) Toasters... uuugh. Yeah. I am always fiddling with mine. Ah well.

QOTD - I used to LOVE baking for my family. I haven't really baked or cooked much since my first surgery but I am slowly starting to cook again, and I will be baking again, I think. The kids miss it so much. It will be a test of will power and facing some head hunger and emotional eating triggers for me. I pretty much bake and cook intuitively for "tried and trues" and I will often alter recipes if I have something "close enough" to try aside from what keeps the recipe stable. I am not sure which I prefer...probably baking. You know I love a good carb even though my new body does NOT lol. There is nothing like the smell of freshly baking bread. Oh my gawd, lol.

Accountability. I got up in the middle of the night and toasted a bagel and slathered it with whipped cream cheese and crafted cherry jam and went back to bed and slept a few more hours. I really need to reign in my night time getting up and eating but I really don't eat during the day. It is something I need to deal with.

Plan for today. Coffee. Vitamins. Water. Farmer's Market to pick some pumpkins and whatever is left seasonally. I might buy some local honey or syrup since it keeps so well. They have local food so I might try some but I don't know. The kids will be thrilled to go. I feel a bit low on energy this morning but once I shower and get moving I will be okay. I hope everyone has a great weekend full of things you enjoy and whatever makes you the happiest.
