Pureed Foods

I am really wanting something with an Italian taste like spaghetti or lasagna (which i know i can't have).

Does anyone have any ideas that fit both pureed foods and this kind of flavor??

Also one last question

Is it bad/weird that I am already having cravings?? I am 2 and a half weeks post op RNY and while I don't ever "feel" hungry, I certainly have been having cravings, they do go away but I wasn't really expecting to get them back this soon.

Thanks guys :)

You could put pasta sauce over chickpeas or some sort of bean, and then puree that.

Add thyme to tomato soup and it will taste like "pizza soup".

I wouldn't be concerned about the cravings. First of all, your diet is very limited right now, so you are naturally bored with what you're eating. You'll be more satisfied once you can have more types of food. Secondly, I find that since WLS I don't get strong cravings for a specific food. My cravings are more general, for something savoury, or sweet, or spicy. It's easy for me to find something healthy that satisfies the "craving".

My cravings have been pretty general as well except for my occasional want for pizza lol

You have to check out eggface She has a ton of great post-op recipes. Her ricotta bake is awesome and very close to what you are looking for.

The ricotta bake will probably be exactly what you're looking for, so +1 for the worldaccordingtoeggface blog; she has great things for each progression.

The craving is probably part of head hunger and, for me, that is a thing that always pops up; at least now I can combat it (most days) because I know it's all in my head!

Love your name, I watch FEI Dressage and the commentators are British and when a horse is being particularly bad they call them a Cheeky Monkey. When I see your name I hear it with a British accent. Sorry just makes me laugh!

The ricotta bake satisfies my craving for lasagna even at 8 months out. It really is good.
