well guys it's great to be home! Almost had a feeding tube. But thankfully I managed to drink my water. Next week will be my 8 th week and I'm curious of what foods to add to my new list of foods! So far everything is awe full! I liked tuna now I can't stand it! Looking for food suggestions I've been released to eat very lightly! Eggs are a no go! I have found warm tea goes down better

Hi Tracy!

It's good to hear that you are home and recovering.

For soft foods I liked the Ricotta Bake from the World According To Eggface Blog and also refried beans with a little cheese melted on top.

I wouldn't consider the eggface blog social media, it's a more static website than this one. It's a very useful resource, definitely worth checking out! I found it more useful than the two bariatric cookbooks I picked up but if you wanted to look at one of those the Fresh Start Bariatric Cookbook was decent - lots of recipes and they tell you what stage they go with.

It's unfortunate you've had a rough time of late, but I'm so glad you're feeling better!

One food that is usually well tolerated (and is yummy) is oatmeal with vanilla protein powder. (Even if you're doing keto in the long run, right now getting some calories in is more important, and if you're having trouble with tuna and eggs, meat and other seafood probably won't agree with you either.)

Also try low sugar yoghurt, perhaps with some milled (ground) chia seeds or flaxseed. The ground seeds tasted like graham cracker crust, making the whole thing taste a bit like cheesecake. Be aware that some people develop (or get worse) lactose intolerance after WLS, so if you haven't had dairy yet, go slow. There are also some good non-dairy yoghurts.

Since you're tolerating warm tea well, you might try one of my faves: cocoa powder + a half serving of protein powder + ho****er + artificial sweetener.

Somehow I missed your post about getting admitted to the hospital. I hope you are on the mend soon.

I am so glad you are home and that you were able to avoid a feeding tube. What foods have you found that you have been able to keep on your list? Do you tolerate dairy?

I see the dr tomorrow according to my plan I'm suppose to be on regular foods! But I'm not tolerating it very well. With dairy I don't like eggs is all

You'll get there eventually, but if I were you I would plan to continue to take it very very slow, considering that recent hospital stay. You have the rest of your life to eat like a normal person again--utilize this precious time when you are new from surgery to be satisfied with yogurt, shakes, and other high protein soft foods.
