Good morning JB and Menu Folks. I hope all is well. I have been reading as able, but very busy and am making an effort to take the time to post as this forum and you folks do help me more than you realize. I am hovering at the same weight as prior, 205-210. Very active and we just completed our hiking season prior to Winter. We do not like to hike in adverse conditions.

QOTD - It really depends, I usually only watch TV in bed so will watch as long as my eyelids will allow and then lights out. Some nights I am out earlier than others.

B - egg salad

S - Ham rollup with chive and onion cream cheese

L - Folio wrap with chicken salad

S - Cukes and dip

D - Someone throw a favorite new recipe at me - Joddie is working the ER tonight so it is just me, myself and I. ( I have chicken, Burger, steak, pork chops.....)

E - Gym night - will be a light night as Joddie and I completed a 12.8 mile hike yesterday..and am a little tired....

Stay healthy my friends, Mike

Good morning Dixie Chickens!

Happy Monday Tennessee lambs!

I'm back from my adventures. I have been reading, but will try and get caught up with everybody tomorrow. Wednesday I flew down to Houston for work. We did make it to Pappas Brothers on Wednesday night for steak. I only had about two sips of wine because I didn't want to be the person that gets wine drunk and tells everybody in the office how much he loves them. But it was Cain Five so I had to have a bit.

Thursday was the work meeting. At the meeting, one of my friends who lives in Houston said "it's too bad you weren't staying over - we could have gone to the game." I let him know that I was, in fact, staying over so we did end up going to the game. We watched the Astros defeat the Tampa Bay Rays in the 5th game of the playoffs. Attached are pictures of the after-game celebration.

Friday morning, I drove up to Waco in an electrical thunderstorm. I was waylaid by a series of client phone calls as soon as I got there. I will post about the hotel later this week. But it was homecoming weekend and the choices were sparse.

Finally, I was able to get off of my calls and go to the Waco Crossfit facility to do the 20.1 workout. I knew that I was the old guy in the class when the Trainer told everybody that she was taking her kids to the Adams Family movie and nobody knew what that was. The workout was 15 minutes of sets of eight ground to overhead with 65 pounds and ten over the bar Burpees, capped at 10 rounds. I got through eight full rounds plus one additional ground to overhead. I was happy with that score.

I think that over the bar Burpees are awkward. Three steps backward, Burpee, jump over the bar, three steps forward, turn around, another Burpee.

After Crossfit, I drove into Waco to meet my daughter and boyfriend for dinner. He seems like a nice kid and my daughter's semester seems to be going well. After dinner we went to the Homecoming Bonfire and Pep Rally. I will have pictures of that on Friday

Saturday was the football game - Baylor won a great game in overtime to go to 6-0. We went to a tailgate party before the game. The kids cooked and it was actually pretty good.

Sunday, I drove back to Houston and flew back to Chicago. I got home at about 5:00. At 6:30, I got back in the car and we headed into Chicago for Little Feat. Great concert: Dixie Chicken, Fat Man in the Bathtub, Puerto Rico, Willin, Sailing Shoes, etc. The warm up band was really good also, I will have to look up who they were. By this time I was pretty tired though.

Throughout my travels I squeezed in 12 miles of running on various hotel treadmills for the October challenge.

QOTD: I slept pretty well last night

My BIL was so excited about the concert videos that Marilyn texted him that he downloaded Feats First, the Lowell George story from Amazon Prime and watched it, for the fourth time, at 1:34 last night!

Snack - rice cake with some peanut butter, and celery

Lunch, Dinner and afternoon snack up in the air. Taking my mother in law for her cataract surgery, so will be out and about this afternoon.

Good morning! My hubby and I are both off today. Headed out soon for our walk and then some yardwork. I had a wonderful weekend. The weather was really nice. I love the fall. The rain is coming this week.

I have been doing really well with food. Yesterday in town while grocery shopping, I was white knuckling it. I resisted the powers of the crunchy taco. I had a chomps in the car and ate when I got home. That is the bummer part of living where I do. Grocery shopping is an hour each way. It gets old!

I am really focusing on keeping my carbs as low as possible. My weight is creeping down ever so slowly. I am really going to up my fluids today and see if that helps.

QOTD- I go to sleep fairly easily. I wake up in the night though, usually around 1:20 for some reason. Some nights I can't get back to sleep. Last night I just got up and came out and laid by the fireplace. I did fall back asleep until 4:40.

Food for today-

2 cups black coffee, miralax

1 medium egg, 1 orange corriander chicken sausage

Kale and motz chicken patty with 1 slice light swiss and grilled onion, 4 slices dill pickle chips

Grilled halibut with lemon, 4 spears of asparagus

Lots of water, hot tea and vitamins on track always

623 cal,12 carb, 86 protein
