RNY 13 years ago...Impossible Whoppper not sitting well!!
Well ive tried all of the major brands of meatless products designed to taste like meat...the so called new generation of products...the veggie burger "that bleeds"(which is bs) and they don't taste like meat. Everyone is flipping their sht over beyond and impossible and they taste like a Boca on steroids..and boca burger doesn't taste like meat.

....and if you don't think it tastes like meat, anyone that does is lying.
There's a possibility, an outside one, I am sure...probably very unlikely but a possibility nonetheless......that everyone's taste buds are different and so they have a different experience/perception and that they are not lying liars that lie.
Or a second possibility -- perhaps they have a preparation for their meatless crumbles that allow it so taste like whatever that recipe is and really don't taste the difference versus being lying liars that lie.

You may be on to something with that observation!

I don't eat meat, but that being said I would never even try the impossible burger because it is so full of fat and calories. As a breast cancer survivor I also avoid most soy, due to the estrogens in them. Pre-op I have eaten almost all of the different meat alternative burgers. Honestly I'm not looking for something to taste like meat, I don't like the smell or taste of meat it so why would I want a substitute that tastes like it? I'm not a vegetarian, I do eat fish and shrimp as well as Greek yogurt and cheeses. The meatless alternatives tend to be low protein and high fat. I just avoid all fast food, and don't even want to attempt it. The buns and bread plus french fries are all too tempting. Better for me to just skip it.
