What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
Mornin' All!
well, today is the day! My plane leaves at 5:30 p.m. (first to Minneapolis, then to Amsterdam, then to Delhi). I'm feeling a little stressed this morning - like what if I forgot to pack something? (ah - they have stores there - and there are 12 people in our group - someone may have whatever it is I don't - plus I made the packing list at least a week ago and have been packing and re-packing ever since - I'm SURE some missing item would have occurred to me at some point). Plus I always worry about being away from home for so long. Will the house be OK? The cats? ARRRGGGH. I know I'll be fine as soon as I get on that plane...
weight was down two lbs this morning which is weird because we went to a hockey game last night and DH got popcorn - which of course I helped myself to. So I was over on calories and probably had too much sodium to boot. Yet...weight down. It's always a mystery.
QOTD: We don't really buy much anymore because we're all middle-aged and up and have way too much stuff as it is. So we often just get each other gift certificates to restaurants, amazon, or whatever. So I get those in December. This year not only do I have the India trip (I've heard they have great yak wool scarves and shawls in one town where we're going - in the mountains) - but I also redeemed a bunch of points I had on my Visa card for amazon gift cards, so I'll probably use some of those, too, to buy people stuff....(or just give them one of the gift cards!!)
4 years 4 months out:
B: plain Greek yogurt with homemade strawberry/rhubarb compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: we're going out with MIL before they drop me off at the airport. Not sure where we're going - but something light and "safe"
AS: I'll be stuck at the airport. We have to check in three hours early, of course - which at our dinky airport is ridiculous. It'll take me all of 15 minutes to get all checked in and at my gate. I have several individual-sized bags of nuts with me for the trip as well as a gazillion protein bars, so one of those
D: probably same as AS since we'll be at the Minneapolis airport for three hours. Not sure I want to buy dinner there unless everyone else in the group goes somewhere together. Plus they'll feed us on the plane, so something light in Minneapolis to tie me over is perfect..
ex: a lot of walking around at the airports since we'll be at them for so long - and I don't want to sit for three hours at each one since we'll be sitting for mega-hours on the two international flights.
have a great day, all!!

Safe travels! I bet you will see some amazing textiles in India, and all the tea. Have so much fun.
Not sure what terminal you will be at during your MSP layover but there's a wine bar that does a great charcuterie plate there - it's perfect for sharing/snack.

Good morning! If I sleep until 6 on the weekend, I consider it a sleeping in win. My grandpa always told me I would need less sleep as I get older -- as I get older, I think it's less about need and more about you just get less, lol.
i have got to do some tech housekeeping today, my desktop is down to single digits available memory so performance is sucky; need to update all my backups (I use cloud storage and at least 2 sometimes more external backups -- just call me a digital hoarder), and then clean some stuff off. My new 6TB drive should help. Also I upgraded my phone so I could get the new camera so I have to play with it! Plus cleaning and a boxing cardio workout early this morning.
QoTD - I write down ideas for people and if it's a unique thing I see, I will buy during the year but mostly I sit down and do it all In the first week in December (you can't get me in a store after the first week in December).

I really want to cook something today but o don't know what. I might try a SF pumpkin crust less cheesecake or some chaffles options but then I was also thinking I could make a roast and have all food for the week.
have a great Saturday

Good morning everyone! I slept in until 6:41 this morning. That almost never happens. It is going to be a beautiful fall day in the PNW. I am hoping to go for a drive in the woods today and look at the fall colors and hike.
My daughter and son in law are on the way to meet a puppy this morning. It is from a rescue shelter that is currently in foster care. The liter came from Texas and they transported them to Oregon. Apparently Texas has a lot of unwanted dogs in shelters. I am excited for her.
QOTD- I am not a big Christmas shopper. I buy my kids 3 things because that is what baby Jesus got.
Food for today-
1 egg, pepper ham, sprinkle of cheese, low carb wrap
corriander orange chicken sausauge ( excited to try these) sauteed cabbage and garlic
coconut chicken with cauli rice
Lots of walking, water and vitamins always.
