What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
on 10/5/19 1:56 am
Helllloooooo my friends! I hope no one else is up and posting for a few more hours. I can't believe I am awake before 4am on Saturday, again. I hope this means there will be napping later!
I have been awake and randomly online shopping...throwing things into my Amazon cart that I will probably rethink later and not end up getting. Which brings me to the QOTD: Do you holiday shop throughout the year or buy everything in December? For the last 5 years or so, I have been shopping throughout the year and really love doing it that way. It's less of a strain on the pocketbook and I feel so ahead. I am really behind this year, though! I have a few people completely done, but a few people that I haven't even started on!
Accountability: Finished the week strong with lots of walking and stuck to my menu.
Today's menu will be an another attempt at an All Chaffle, All Day (sort of) menu! Here is the plan:
Chaffle French Toast Sticks - egg, cheese & sugar free cinnamon sugar
Italian Chaffle Sandwich - egg, cheese, pepperoni & Italian spices; dipped in low sugar marinara sauce
Chaffle Burger - egg, cheese, hamburger, lettuce, pickle
- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)
I too am up early as we are working a half day today. A group of Boy Scouts and a group from a large local Methodist church are booked till 11:30 today. Miss Lily and I have our first long walk in and will do more later today. Accountability was yuck yesterday as I went out for dinner for my birthday so went over on calories. I also missed the second long walk with Lily as it was dark and I was too tired when we got home. I was hoping to ignore the big 60 but hubby is a squealer so I had to.run around with a tiara and a birthday girl pin all day. At least for the last 7 years since surgery I don't feel my age. Since I was obese my whole life,I feel better than I did in my late 20s--sort of like time is moving in reverse. This surgery really did give me my life back and I am thankful every single day. Weight today is 121.6. Here's the food plan for the day B 3 dark chocolate protein pancakes with sugar free syrup L 4 oz leftover smothered chicken and 1/4 c sweet potato leftovers D 4 oz grilled shrimp 1/4 c leftover green beans. QOTD throughout the year. In honor of the big 60--me at 278 before surgery and me at the wedding Saturday at 121ish. You would never have seen me in a floral pattern dress or red jacket before surgery. In fact the jacket was one of the first items hubby bought me 61/2 years ago when I reached goal. I was looking at the black one and the sales lady told me I was so tiny I should try the red one on. Fits today like it did then. It's hard work but it can be done friends!

Belated happy birthday!! How incredible that you feel better and stronger at 60 than when you were younger! You have embraced your new life and are an inspiration!

Good morning, everybody!
Up Since about 5:30. I always have such high hopes for sleeping in on the weekend. I thought it was supposed to rain today, but its clear and cool outside. We are running a 5-K tonight at about 4:30 if the weather holds. My goal is to finish under 35 minutes. I have been running about 37-38 minute times, but that is round and around a 200 meter track. I am telling myself that performance could be better outside. We will see. Also, its super humid in the tennis dome where I run inside.
Other than that, gym, tailor to get pants hemmed, and a pizza party at our gym tonight. That may involve a discussion about the gym and 5-K on the same day. An early afternoon nap would be glorious.
The cleaning lady is coming this morning, so I need to be out of the house.
QOTD: Marilyn does most of the shopping, but the presents that I do get I purchase after Thanksgiving.
Breakfast: Protein bar
Lunch: Chicken Teriyaki
Snack: Light and Fit
Dinner: Pizza party
Have a great day, all!

Good luck on the goal for the 5K! It's so cool that you and your son are doing it together.

When I was a runner, I remember running my fastest 5K. My friend (who was way faster than me and already at the finish line) met me at the last turn of the race to encourage me to run faster. She was so excited that I was going to beat my best time. I miss running. I hope you run like the wind and make your time goal!
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!
