What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?
At the barn they got two pygmy goats and they are totally adorable. They both have blue eyes and they love to be cuddled. If I had the room I would have one.
QOTD- I've been a few times to the support group here. Why is there always one person that needs to hijack the meeting and make it all about them. There were some really nice people and most were pre-op or newly post-op. I should go back, but it's downtown and doesn't start until 6:30 and by the time I get home from work I really am not up for a drive in rush hour traffic.
My roommate had RNY yesterday. I took him to the hospital and waited for them to take him into the operating room. It ended up being a 4 hour wait so I went 7 hours without eating and my stomach decided to cramp up. I did bring ahi jerky with me, but it just didn't feel right for me to be eating when he couldn't. So it was a long day. He got out of surgery about 6pm and they didn't bring him up to his room until almost 9pm. I knew he would be really out of it, but he has been so supportive of me that I wanted to be there for him.
He is having a lot of back pain that makes him unable to walk, so they are going to keep him for probably another 2-3 days. Once they can control the pain they plan to have physical therapy in to get him walking. I'm so glad it wasn't that difficult for me. I only stayed one night in the hospital and was home by about noon the next day. And I only took one pain pill on the first day home and that was it. I know we are all different.
So it ended up being a late night I had to watch the Seahawks-Rams game on my DVR I was up to the end of the first quarter when I left for the hospital. I finally fell asleep about midnight and was up and checked in for work by 6am. Friday is my remote day so no one knows I wasn't dressed when I sent my first email.
Nothing planned for the weekend, I'm sure there will be multiple trips to the hospital and Saturday I will watch my Ducks play.
I got my goretex walking shoes so I really don't have any more excuses.
Have a great Friday everyone!
