I have an android phone - but I know there's an option on it to turn off roaming data. I'll definitely do that - but I just want to make sure that's all I have to do. I was also considering putting an autoreply message on that I won't have access to phone or text until Oct 27, but I get a lot of spam callers and don't want them to know I'll be out of town (although DH will still be here - he's not going with me - so it's not like our house will be unoccupied). Still thinking about what to do with this...

Good morning and happy October!! Fall is my favorite.

I have some goals for the month - 25 30 minutes or more work outs (intentional walk, Pilates, yoga class, rowing or boxing cardio circuit);I don't think this fits into the October fitness challenge but I want to put it out there to hold myself accountable!

Also get back to tracking every day with all days 50 carb or lower and at least 4 days a week 30 carb or lower.

qotd - I think I had it at the right time but if I had to pick a different one, I'd say 40 vs 45 -- I would not have been as consistent and disciplined mentally as I am now if I had it earlier.

accountability - I didn't feel great yesterday so was off on foods but great on fluids!

Today's menu is

coffee with half and half X 2 and then tea

5.3 oz cottage cheese

1 container banana light and fit greek

1 white cheddar balanced break (cheddar, nuts, cranberries, no chocolate)

1 think thin pumpkin spice bar

4 oz ever roast deli chicken

1 oz cheddar

Nick's spicy meat sticks

goal - 91 protein, 944 calories, 50 carbs

That feels like a lot of food!

Good morning y'all! Happy Taco Tuesday!

QOTD - I had the surgery 10 years ago. I was 34. I researched it for 5 years prior to that. Back then I wished I had done it sooner, but looking back I believe it was done at the right time in my life.

Breakfast - Slice of natures own multigrain bread, with a slice of provolone. Frozen fruit smoothie, (green) with water. Lots of coffee!

Snack - Celery with cheese, peanut butter

Lunch - Korean "beef" burrito at my favorite local vegetarian restaurant

Snack - protein shake

Dinner - Kale salad, and chocolate chia pudding. The chia pudding had coconut milk, and I add almond milk to make a bit thinner.

Hope you all have a great day!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

Good Morning JB and Menuers

Sorry your having a hard time shaking it JB hope it breaks soon.

QOTD: I really can't say I went through the full presurgery requirements and had a surgery date scheduled in 2015 but during the 6 months of preop stuff I never met not one WLS patient of the surgeon and he was pretty arrogant so at the last minute I chickened out. I did not see much support that this surgeon provided after so I didn't get any warm fuzzy feeling. I tried it on my own again only to hit my highest weight ever within a year. When I walked into the new surgeons clinic the first person I met was a patient of his that was 10 years post op and very very informative of what was going to be the new me. So yes I wish I would have done it sooner but I was not really prepared till I met this group. I also have a lifetime support group that came with this group so I know at least once a month i have a support to go to.

Accountability: I made fudge for a birthday gift Jack Daniels and peanut butter I may have had a few licks of the spoon.

Finding the right surgery team can really be key! I had the same surgeon for both my lapband and RNY, but she is part of two different major hospitals and the practices are so different. The first hospital was cold and clinical and hard to get to (right in downtown). I was there all the time for fills and unfills to the lapband, but no one ever seemed to recognize me or care. And the hospital was so big that they had support groups in a huge auditorium. The second practice she has is smaller, and so lovely. The people are really warm and the support groups were really small, friendly and helpful. It's night and day!

  • High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
  • High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
  • Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
  • Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
  • Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)

Yes my Support is never more than 20 so it's nice and our Group leader is a 10 year post op so everyone has something to share with the newbies

Good morning~ Good luck with your salmon today and avoiding the rain! I can't eat cooked salmon, but have no issue with salmon sashimi. Yesterday was a great day. I am loving the gym lately and I hope it stays that way. I look forward to my little post work out massage everyday. I'm not sure how my miles will add up since I am am doing so many different things, but as long as I am working out, right? Busy day - gotta get moving!

QOTD - I wish I had done it in my 20's but I don't think I would have been successful. It would have been about looks and acceptance plus without any health issues I had no clue. Now it's all about health, mobility and take care of myself for the future. I will never stop fighting for those reasons.

Accountability -great

Exercise - gym - both StairMasters, compression chair
