7 weeks post-op and JEANS! Ugh

I just returned to work last week after taking 6 weeks off after my surgery (8-15-2019!)

I work in a relaxed environment - but our uniform is a polo shirt and jeans. Sounds cool, except that all my jeans are hitting me right where 3 of my incisions are. They are healed up, but the pressure is killing me. When I sit, I am unbuttoning and unzipping them which seems to help. It's making my really sore.

Anyone else had this issue also? How long did it last?

I did not wear jeans that soon after surgery. I would suggest you buy some that have elastic waistband instead of button and zipper.

Not only are you making yourself uncomfortable, you could end up with infection from the pressure on incisions that are not completely healed.

After my skin removal I had several spots on my jeans line. I used abdominal pads. Check a medical supply source. Worked great.

I would suggest a pair of jeans one size up-- or keep the current ones as you lose weight. Less pressure around your middle will help.

You can use a rubberband (with elastic/fabric). Wrap one end around the button, and the other, loop through the button hole. You can link them, and give yourself lots of room. Bonus, you don't have to zip/unzip before you sit/stand.

Good luck!

I know this is an old forum, but I also had this operation and I need some advice, who can help me?

So, I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I had an injury to my right leg, and my jeans were causing me a lot of pain. But I found a solution by wearing an orthopedic bandage ordered at https://preferredmedsupply.com/about-us/ who scolded me a lot, and I didn't feel any pain or discomfort.I was more energetic and could work without problems and pain.It should be worn when we feel the need most. It's perfect after surgery, and my doctor agreed to use it and didn't see the problema.Does not cause unwanted infections
