What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning everyone!
I had a fun day yesterday. I competed in 3 events in a horse show (two 3rd place ribbons and one first place ribbon). Then I went to a Pitch Club (card game). However someone made delicious rice krispie bars and I had two. Naughty me!

Mornin' All!
MIL, DH and I went to see "Judy" yesterday, so of course I spent the rest of the day online reading up on Judy Garland, her parents, her kids, her siblings, her husbands - and watching videos of her being interviewed. I now feel like a expert on Judy Garland. Too bad it's a six-hour drive from here to her childhood home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota (it's been turned into a Judy Garland museum) - else I'd go up there, too!
another movie day today. The "moms" (MIL and my mother) and I are going to see "Downton Abbey". MIL is a huge fan of the TV series (me too!); I don't think my mother ever watched it. Hopefully she'll be able to follow the movie without all the context...
accountability yesterday was fine calorie-wise but not choice-wise. Too much popcorn at the movie. NO POPCORN TODAY!!! DH won't be there, so that may solve that problem - he ALWAYS gets it, and I have a hard time keeping my hands out of it.
QOTD: the lead story this morning is the chief of police announced his retirement (not too exciting - but - that IS the lead story on all the local news sites!)
4 years 3 months out:
B: protein pancakes with 1/3 C plain Greek yogurt and homemade blueberry/blackberry sauce, coffee with half & half
MS: will probably skip - late breakfast, plus I'll be eating an earlier-than-usual lunch because of the movie
L: either half a turkey sandwich or a salad with diced turkey and light dressing
AS: protein shake
D: either half a Beyond Burger on a "slim" bun or a Beyond Sausage in a Flat Out Fold It wrap
ex: yoga!
have a great day, all!
I just read up on the Judy Garland house and museum in Grand Rapids, MN. Very mixed reviews. Several people said it was disappointing. Sounds like one of those places that's fine to stop by if you happen to be in the area, but not as a destination. Probably not even worth a two-hour drive - let alone six. Boo.

Was the movie any good? I kept thinking that her fan base is so loyal that there is no chance they'll like it if even one tiny thing is off...

Overall I liked it. Reviews on rottentomatoes.com were mixed but mostly positive (this is my go-to reviewing site - so of course I checked it out before I went to the movie). They said Renee Zellweger didn't capture Garland's complexity, but that would have been hard to do in a two-hour movie - and one that really went over just a small part of her life (i.e., the last few months). Plus some of them didn't like the flashbacks to her teenage years - found it jarring and weird - although I was totally fine with those. It served to explain when/how the addictions got started. So anyway, yes - I mostly liked it. It's worth a watch.
