What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Morning! How come... all week long I dream about staying in bed all weekend, and every damn Saturday I wake up at 3am? Why, body? Why?? But my kitty and I have taken the opportunity to get in some good hour-long cuddles, so it's not all terrible, I guess... :)
Speaking of kitties--they went WILD yesterday! Grim was out all day, too, and we came home at about 8pm to see:
- They knocked over a ceramic mug that was holding pens and shattered it.
- They knocked over a cup with water and spilled it everywhere.
- The quilt was off the bed! (I can't even imagine how this happened...)
- Wet paw prints all over the glass cook top stove.
I am taking off in the next few hours to leave my bold, naughty, 2 year old, giant 15lb kitties, and go hang out with my parent's sweet, shy, 11 year old, teeny 7lb kitty, while my family is traveling. I will miss all my boys (Grim included) but it will be nice to have a little get-away, too.
Accountability: Great. 3.5 mile walk & ate on plan.
QOTD: Do you dress in a lot of colors, or stick to neutrals? I swapped out my summer clothes to winter clothes and noticed that my summer wardrobe is so bright and sunny, and my winter wardrobe is almost 100% black, grey, and navy! Time to go shopping!
Exercise: I'm finally feeling well enough to get back to the gym today!!!!! Looking forward to a nice looooong run :)

I struggle to sleep as much as I WISH I could when I have the rare opportunity. I don't know if it is just the season of life I am in; however, I do know many of my peers complain about it on social media too. I guess at least we are not alone ;)
We have a crazy kitten too. I am hoping once he is heavy enough to take to be neutered he will calm down a bit. He climbs and has knocked down a few things the kids have put up for safekeeping. He can be a cuddle bug too. Not a bad kitten just full of Moxy, especially in the mornings, much to the chagrin of the kids, lol. We have 2 other older kittens... probable cats by now, but not old. They have very different personalities and always have since we adopted them from the shelter. They are a bit taken aback by this one and have behaved a bit more cautiously since we introduced him.
QOTD - I have always read that I am an earth tone gal, in general, and all of my seasonal clothing reflects that if it isn't black. I have a few colorful pieces ...because, well, I try,...but I never find myself reaching for those items. I don't really feel comfortable out of my core pieces, I guess.
I think I need to start tracking my food again and find a good (hopefully free) calorie tracking app/food diary. I noticed a huge jump in the scale overnight but I am fairly confident it is medication-related as I had tapered the dose but increased it yesterday due to more neuropathy. I am not bummed just aware. I am going to make sure I am more conscious of my water intake and clean protein and it is that time of the month where I re-order my vitamins for the following month. I am wondering if I need to add more vitamins or might like to change brands. I worry I will choose a brand that doesn't work for me. Are all vitamins equal, all things considered? I wonder.

I don't think you can beat myfitnesspal.com for a free food tracking program. It is both a website and an app and you can sign in and use both interchangeably.
Have you had your labs done, recently? I'd ask my surgeons office to recommend brands based on what you need.

I thought MFP had a pay version but maybe I need to check again. I am all about those free apps that streamline my life
Mornin'!
we're going to a tailgate that the chancellor is throwing this morning, but we're not going to the game - instead, we're going to Milwaukee (and taking MIL along) for "Doors Open Milwaukee", where many places (e.g., churches, public buildings, historic hotels) are open to the public for the weekend. I think a lot of cities do this kind of thing now. Anyway, we've been a couple of times before but not for the last year or two. Some of my favorites are no longer on the schedule - but some new (to me) ones ARE, so this should be fun. And it'll be great to get MIL out of town for the day.
I haven't the slightest re: what I'll be eating today (breakfast at the tailgate, lunch & dinner in Milwaukee), so I'll just vow to be careful! We should be getting a lot of walking in today.
QOTD: my summer clothes are pretty colorful. Winter not so much - I have several forest green sweaters and a TON of burgundy (I have no idea why I have so much burgundy. I like the color, but....really??). Also, almost all of my clothes, summer and winter, are solid color - although that makes sense because I'm not crazy about wearing prints except for stripes. I have a lot of colorful print scarves, though - but I usually only wear those when I'm "dressing up".
B: I had a protein shake when I got up - along with coffee with half & half. Not sure what they'll have at the tailgate. I'm guessing some kind of egg dish, so I'll focus on that.
L: ??
D: ??
I'll take a couple of protein bars with me to Milwaukee just in case...
Have a great day, everyone!!
Good morning all! Finally got some much needed sleep last night, but woke up with a pounding headache. I guess the stress of the week just finally caught up with me. I feel more accomplished though as I cleaned out my fridge and wiped down every inch of it, vacuumed the entire house, mopped the floors, dusted the furniture and light fixtures and took out the trash. Not sure where I got all my energy from last night after a long week of work with little sleep. Today I'll tackle the laundry and put clean sheets on my bed. Then I might try to find and put my fall wreaths and decor up. Noticed today when I got home I still had my summer wreath out....that simply won't do. Lol
QOTD: I wear more neutral colors. I do have some bold and bright colors that I do wear on occasion, but I prefer neutrals. Guess it matches my introverted personality. Lol
Stayed on track yesterday with my menu. Wasn't really hungry last night though so just had another premier for dinner.
B: premier shake
B2: coffee w/Splenda and sugar free pumpkin spice creamer
L: Either the last of the deli meat and cheese rolled up or a L&F yogurt with granola.
D: may be going out for sushi
Surgery: RNY on 1/23/19
I complimented a lady yesterday who was wearing an olive green jumpsuit with a very light pink headband. The pink was something I would never think to wear with olive green, but it really looked nice. I have not put away summer clothes yet and we are expecting 92 this week.
For work I have a dress code and for the last three years, it has been a plain white polo shirt, so I had seven of them lined up every week. This year it is: Dress shirt with collar and sleeves. Required colors: charcoal gray, dark blue or light blue. Solid or subtle patterns.
When I am not working in the winter, I tend to wear a lot of reds with black, but last year I switched to a lot of blue tops because I attend a lot of political events where red can mean you are for Trump and blue against Trump. I visited Venezuela once and they were horrified when I put on a red shirt one morning. They told me that wearing red meant that you supported their communist dictator and told me never to wear red there.
Long ago, my grandmother was a maid for the Roosevelt family in New York. She told me that rich people almost never bought new clothes, but just added new collars and blouses each season to freshen up their well used dark skirts and dresses.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Glad to hear you are feeling better finally,JB. Got the wedding setup done and had the rehearsal last night. We have to be there at 3:15 and the wedding is at 4. Well in the continuing saga of the youngest son and his torn ACL that happened at work three months ago. Yesterday in his scheduled day off they made an appointment at a different doctor and instructed him to say it just happened. Seems to me like they never submitted the forms to workmans comp and are now trying to cover their butt. For fear of losing his job he lied but then immediately knew it was wrong. The doctor did switch.him to light duty so that was good. He then called a personal injury attorney who yesterday filed the workmans comp papers for him. At the attorney's instruction he called the doctor back and thanked him for his work but told him his services would not be needed as he already has a diagnosis of a torn ACL per an MRI and admitted that his management coerced him into falsifying the date--that it actually happened at the end of June. The doctor said that seemed likely with the pain he has and thanked him for his honesty. Now if his bosses try to harass him or talk about the case he gets to say"speak to my attorney."He's SO frustrated. He's not trying to get out of work--he loves his job, just not the management and even less now. All he wants is workmans comp to authorize him to get surgery so he can recuperate and get back to work. This 26 year old kid has had 3 jobs and 3 terrible bosses in his life. Maybe one of these days he could get a good one? Ok off the soapbox Karen! Miss Lily and I have a good hour plus 10 minute walk done already and will take a short walk this evening too. Accountability was spot on food wise and weight is 121.2 today. I didn't drink enough yesterday so at least 100 ounces is the goal for the day. I can always tell as I wake with a terrible headache and feel kind of nauseous too. Here's the food plan for the day B 2/3c earnest eats hot cereal L 4oz deli chicken and cheese D reception 4 oz pork roast 3 bites green beans. Hoping for a happy, joyful wedding with no fireworks. We get to entertain the bride's shifty dad and keep her mother away from him. Mom ,dad, and stepdad are all coming but mom is the bvb one walking her down the aisle. I'll try to get some good pictures too. Have a wonderful day full of smart and healthy choices!
