That cake sounds absolutely outstanding! I too love ginger, though I When had TJ's ginger mints. I used to love candied ginger though - wow. I used to eat it when I was thin at an earlier point in my life, and the intensity of the ginger seemed to neutralize the calories in the sugar....or so I told myself, anyway!
Kathleen turner voice!! love that...
well- I didn't sleep again last night... 5 trains and tons of dogs baking and roosters crowing ?? OMG today will be rough. have to work offsite at hospital today from 6-1:30 PM then gym.

Have you seen Serial Mom? One of my favorite movies! I should just walk around saying "***** willow" in my best Kathleen Turner voice all day.

Good Morning JB and Menuers,
It' been crazy at work and I am not handling it well. The sub for my teammate has been awful and actually yelled at me on Monday. I can't manage two classrooms and I shouldn't have to be asked to do it. A new sub starts today, here's hoping things run a little smoother.
Accountability: Food has been all over the place and I feel it. My insides are in an uproar. I have yet to cut back on my carb intake. The struggle is real.
QOTD: chocolate except for fudge - I like vanilla fudge
B: PP chocolate shake
L: chicken thigh, onions, and a small naan bread
D: sausage, pepper, onion, tomato with a few tortellini
S: yogurt
The only thing consistent in my day is 100+ ounces of water and taking my vitamins.
Have a great Wed-ness-day! LOL
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Ohhh I am so sorry that the sub did not work out. Don't them get to you--you will be stronger if you are healthy. XO

Good Morning, everybody!
We had a wonderful anniversary getaway in West Palm Beach. We were only there for two days, so we mostly swam, explored the resort, and ate. We did go down to Wirth Street to walk around but pretty much everything was closed for the season. The hotel had a great gym, so I managed to inch closer to goal in the 50 mile challenge.
Marilyn discovered that (a) Tory Burch has a tennis line, and (b) that they carried it in the Pro Shop, so she was able to get a dress and sweater (below) and I was able to get her a Birthday present without too much heavy lifting.
Sunday was really stormy and the beaches were closed because of the waves. Monday the beaches were open and the water was so warm. It was still really wavy and the first wave that hit Marilyn knocked her over and knocked her sunglasses off, which we couldn't find because the water was so choppy. Tuesday the water was perfect, much more calm, still warm and with visibility. But the glasses were long gone by then.
I had my first drink since pre-surgery. One glass of wine and one glass of champagne. It seemed fine. I don't think that I will drink very much though, I don't miss it.
Today is going to be a rough day back, but I'm trying not to think about it for a few more hours.
They cancelled the Brat Run! I was all set to cap off the September 50 Mile challenge with this 5K and now its cancelled. I guess I will cross the finish line somewhere else. My son was looking forward to it, so we are going to do another one on October 5th. But they won't have Alpine hats.
QOTD: Chocolate. I'm glad that you didn't add strawberry to the choices. It always seemed like a distant third to me.
Breakfast: Turkey Meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Beef
Snack: Jerky
Dinner: TBD
Have a great Day, all!
