Happy Sunday, folks! Hope you all had a relaxing day yesterday :)

I was such a MESS all day... My cold continues to knock me out and I have lost my voice again (2nd time in a month!). Plus they dilated my pupils at the eye doctor yesterday and I was basically blind for the rest of the day, whi*****luded the one hour drive home and my trip to the grocery store, where I just guessed on what I was buying. It was really bad! I came home and slept for 2 hours and just laid around for most of the rest of the day.

Accountability: Didn't eat one thing I planned, and ended the day under 700 calories. Also didn't move at all, either.

Not sure what today will be. We have an OH visitor in town who we are excited to see. We will be hosting her and her friends at our house with Grim's steaks on the grill. The cartoon above is so apt for any time we are hosting people. I hope no one wants anything besides steak, lol.

QOTD: What are you like when you are sick? I feel like I am getting whinier the older I get. I used to push through a little better than I do now, but the older I get, the more I just want to shut down and stop when I feel bad.

The only thing I know I am eating today is steak! But my best guess for the rest of the day is:

B: Protein Coffee

S: 3 pieces of Bacon

L: Steak & side salad with caesar dressing

D: ... I can't even guess...

Exercise: hahahaha

Good morning, everybody!

Quick post and then I have to pack for Florida. I went to my first Blackhawks game yesterday. I didn't know it but there was some sort of Octoberfest going on in the Stadium concourse and they gave away Octoberfest/Blackhawks scarves. Since it was just pre-season, I came a little late. So everybody was walking round in these cool scarves and I didn't get one.

I did find out that we get Alpine hats for running in the Brat Fest next Saturday, so that will be funny. If I can get 8 miles this week, then I should cross the September 50 challenge in my Alpine hat.

I expect Trish to post that she got no sleep because Madison was crazy following the Badger's huge win over Michigan.

QOTD: Once I get a cold that goes into my chest, I am down for the count. Probably whiny as well.

Breakfast: leftover steak

Snack: Protein Bar

Lunch: Airplane snacks

Dinner: Seafood

Have a great day, all!

Ha ha! We totally avoided downtown yesterday because of the game - we knew it would be chaos!! I haven't heard/read any of the reports yet - will do so as soon as I'm done with this!!!

Mornin' All!

feeling really fat this morning. We went out to lunch yesterday (two authentic Mexican tacos) and I had dinner with a friend (Indian place - I had half a garlic naan but then very little of my dinner because I was so stuffed from lunch + the naan). Lots of fluids and not much food are on the agenda for today...

We went to an estate sale at a house up the street from us yesterday and I spotted a mid-century teak desk that I had no business buying, but I bought it anyway. $150. Unbelievable. If nothing else, I can probably sell it for way more than what I paid for it, but I love it and want to keep it. We're thinking of eventually turning the cats' bedroom into an office when we no longer have fighting cats that need to be kept separated, so maybe we'll put it in there (after getting a piece of plate glass to put on the top of it - I don't want it scratched up!!). Or maybe I should become a mid-century vintage furniture dealer in my retirement...

QOTD: I almost never get sick, so....hmmmm... I just push through colds (as in ...don't do anything differently). As to flu, I haven't had it in years, but I just stay in bed when I do. I don't get whiney, but I don't like being trapped in my house for more than a couple of days, so I HATE having anything that keeps me bed bound!

4 years 3 months out:

B: protein pancakes topped with plain Greek yogurt and homemade fruit compote, coffee with half & half

MS: I'll probably pass...

L: diced turkey by itself or a salad with diced turkey and light dressing

AS: crustless protein pumpkin pie

D: maybe half a Beyond Burger & vegetables

have a great day, all!

Good morning menu friends! Miss Lily and I have 3.4 miles in already and will do more later this evening. Accountability stunk on food as I ate a cookie that I didn't want or need. I did get my steps in and my weight was 121.4 today. Here's the food plan for the day B 2/3c earnest eats hot cereal L 4oz chicken salad D 4 oz onion burger and a slice of tomato S if needed serving of garlic pork rinds. Have a great day full of smart choices!

Morning all! Quick post as I?ve woken up with a headache from hell. Ugh

QOTD: I don?t get sick as much anymore thank goodness! When I used to work for a different hospital downtown I?d take public transportation and that?s the only thing I can think of as to why I got sick so much. That and the fact that my immune system isn?t the greatest. Every little cold I?d get it would turn into bronchitis and I was out completely then....didn?t even want to get out of bed. I was getting bronchitis twice a year and it would linger forever! I lived on antibiotics and steroids. It was horrible. And yes, I tend to be whiny when I?m sick. However, with the new job and since I drive myself to work....I get sick a lot less. (Knock on wood)

B: premier shake

B2: coffee w/Splenda and sugar free creamer

L: maybe a protein bar

D: ???? Have no clue

Today will probably be like yesterday where I don?t eat much. Still feeling blah.

QOTD- I just want to be left alone to wallow in my misery. No I end up sleeping a lot and reading or watching TV.

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day. I actually walked 3.4 miles and enjoyed it. The rains are back today and I just bought a pair of goretex running shoes, they will be here sometime after the 26th. As someone that sews I have several waterproof breathable sets of rain gear I have made. So I need to dig them up and keep walking in the rain, or on the dreadmill.

I finally dropped a couple of pounds and I'm so close to the 160's, I promise myself to stay on track.

My NP is no longer with the WLS clinic that did my surgery, but she is at another clinic and I need to set up an appointment. I was scheduled for 10/2 with the surgeon but I'd rather see the NP. She has had WLS and I really like her.

Roommate issues again, I really feel like I should just go back to living alone. I try to be accommodating and end up feeling like I'm giving too much. Maybe it is just the imbalance between men and women. My doubting myself and my insecurities. I have worked so hard to make room for him, my office is a disaster my treadmill is crammed into my family room and I can't even walk around in there. To me I feel like he wants to control me, that may not be his intent but that's what it feels like to me. My lack of confidence doesn't help, I get pushed until I snap and then it isn't pretty. I know I'm not the easiest person to live with but I really have tried. He has disappeared for a few days and says he doesn't want me to take him to his surgery or want anything from me. It feels so passive aggressive and he really hurts my feelings.

Heading out to my barn therapy soon, so we'll talk it through. Thanks everyone for allowing me a forum to vent and for being so supportive.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

JB feel better soon

I'm sorry that you're having roommate troubles. Are you guys also romantically involved, or are you strictly housemates, or are you in some undefined, midway place? I seriously dislike passive aggressive behavior. I don't like to fight at all, really, but I am straightforward and want the same courtesy and respect from others. Hang in there Julia! I hope things become more fun.
