What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?

Feeling kind of annoyed that I skipped chess club by ditching through the back of the cafeteria and hung out on the field for 2 years instead... I could have been svelte and smart.

Some days here in central Illinois we are low 60s in the am but still get into the low 80s by afternoon. I do wear a light jacket when I walk with Lily in the am. Miss Lily and I did an hour walk already this morning and will do 2 more later. Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 121.2. Tonight is a catered meal at our meeting and if it's like the potluck last night there won't be much I can eat. Tomorrow is our pick up day and we head home for a week. A week from Saturday is our oldest son's wedding. Youngest son sees the orthopedic surgeon Tuesday for his torn ACL. So we most likely will be cancelling trips at some point to help him post surgery. Which after tolerating some of these people for a week will be just fine with me. Here's the food plan for the day B 2/3c earnest eats hot cereal L 4oz chicken salad D some sort of protein. Have a great day full of smart and healthy choices everyone!

I didn't know your son got engaged! Congrats! Do you have a fancy mother of the bride dress? I want to hear all about the wedding!

Mornin'!
I spent a lot of money again yesterday for this upcoming trip - this time a collapsible duffel bag to stick in my checked bag in case I come home with more than I left with - AND - packing cubes. A lot of people find these things useful. I hope I do, too. I mostly bought them to avoid paying shipping charges on the aforementioned duffel bag (I know this is stupid - to spend a bunch more money to avoid paying $6, but...there you go). I thought these cubes might be particularly helpful in keeping my snacks all together - and various electronics-related things, like cords and cables. But...we'll see.
this morning I'm going to a coffee social thingie. My MIL might go - and I hope she does. I feel like I have to dynamite her out of her apartment sometimes (although she went to the film discussion group meeting last Friday and LOVED it). After that, I'm thinking about a noon water aerobics class (and I'm staying OUT of the damn whirlpool this time!). I also have to make something for another social event tomorrow night, so once I figure out what I'm going to make, I'll need to head to the store to pick up a few ingredients. Otherwise...nuttin'.
accountability was great yesterday - I actually stuck to my morning plan 100%! (I usually make a couple of safe substitutions to the original plan - but not yesterday!)
QOTD: we have the same weather as Jim does in Chicago, so...still summer here! Low 80s today, and rain on the way (which may cool things down a bit next week). It seemed really hot yesterday. Low 80s then, too - so it must have been the humidity.
4 years 3 months out:
B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and homemade fruit compote, coffee with half & half
MS: more coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: either a BLT or a salad with diced turkey breast
AS: light yogurt with raspberries
D: whatever I don't have for lunch, I'll have for dinner
have a great day, everyone!
Trish, will we hear from you while you are in India?

hi all- had strange shift at work yesterday so got all thrown off 12:30 - 8. had to cram in food before bed which then led to too much fiber.... you know the end result. but on the plus side the scale moved lol. feeling very puny still hopefully It gets better.
QOTD: it has been 100 degrees here in Chattanooga/north Ga- horrible- can't wait till fall
accountability ok but had too many carbs before bed which were all wheat...
food plan is going to be a cobbling together plus feel a little sketchy
oatmeal wit protein powder
chicken /veggies
tuna?
I have another networking event tonight. It is from 5-8 and I have no idea what food will be there. I'm planning a hearty snack before I go so that I am not ravenous. My plan below does not include whatever I will pick at there, but I have room for a few hundred calories.
QOTD: no - but for me coat weather doesn't start until we are ~50 degrees. I love hoodies and sweaters, but we aren't there yet. I'm in Chicago.
Accountability: last night dinner was changed last minute to a different restaurant and I was very unsatisfied with my meal. All meat and veg but it did wasn't very good. I ended up having a big treat when we came home.
My therapist is challenging me to have some food I want just because I want it outside of the late night hour. That is always when I allow it and she thinks it would be healthy for me to try to allow myself that freedom during the day. I struggle with very unhealthy eating behaviors, so I'm going to give it a try. I'm very much trying to avoid going back down that rabbit hole of overly restricting and the negative things that leads to for me. I'm worried that having "unhealthy" things early just opens me up to unhealthy for the rest of the day. But I'm trying to prove to myself that 200 - 300 calories of unhealthy is actually reasonable and healthy. Slippery slope I know. But I've been down the complete restriction path, lost a ton of weight and gained an eating disorder, so I want to avoid that.
Plan for today - no gym time today
. I will get some extra steps in though.
I can relate to this. I was for a very longtime overly restricting. First with the surgery to get under goal weight. but in my case -800 calories was not an acceptable long term solution to keep weighing 118 pounds... It was also leading to binges of those foods I was restricting plus anything else I could fit into my face. This has been my longest stretch of over a month and a week where I haven't freaked out and ate random %$%$...
Good morning everyone, Happy Friday Eve!
QOTD - Not sweater weather yet. To be honest, it's not even jeans weather. It's tank top, shorts and flip flop weather. I live in South Texas (San Antonio) and it's just hot. Halloween is normally pretty warm, Thanksgiving too. Past few years, I've put up my Christmas tree wearing shorts and flip flops. That being said, I am a fall/spring person, as those are my two favorite seasons.
Breakfast - I'm not feeling myself...I woke up cranky and didn't have time to make anything. So coffee, Atkins shake (30g protein) and a COMPLETE bar by Juice Plus is gonna have to do.
Lunch - Some luncheon thing at a golf course here, so no idea. My boss is presenting, so we are all going to support her.
Snack - Eh, depending on lunch may not have one.
Dinner - gosh darn it, I'm off this evening from my second job and I want to eat somewhere with my husband. Thinking it will be either our favorite little Mexican place (I can get vegetarian/vegan options), or somewhere close that has decent options for us both.
I hope you all have a great day today! Do something nice for yourself, and one thing for someone else even if it's a stranger. I am challenging myself to be kind as often as possible, but to also include myself in this. So this morning, even though I was cranky I took a few extra moments to put nice lotion on my feet, and made sure to moisturize my face. Little things add up.
Take care y'all!
P.S. I'm so excited, I signed up for Puppy Yoga again! October 1st! I hope to have lots more pictures to share!
