What's on your Sunday Menu, RNYers?

It's 3am, so I guess it's Sunday already, right? I have been up since 1:30am, but don't feel too bad for me... I actually fell asleep at 7:30pm last night! Our bowl class was great, but it really was a lot more physical than I expected. Of course, I had to stand on a wood pallet because I was too short, and it was slippery so I spent a lot of time bracing my body to stay stable. I am surprisingly sore today. I also banged my left index finger between wood and metal and it is swollen, bruised and sore. I am a mess. But look at my two pretty bowls!

Accountability: Absolutely terrible. I know it is so wrong to say I was too tired to make good choices, but that is what happened. I need to work on that.

QOTD: What are you reading? Any recommendations? I finally started Where the Crawdads Sing. Am I the last person to read this? I have heard great things! After that, I am either going to read the new David McCullough book about settling the Northwest, or the new Colson Whitehead Book, the Nickel Boys.

I was way too tired to make Chaffles last night, so I will try them this morning instead!

Exercise: I am really not up for a run today--too sore from yesterday... But I will definitely do a few miles on the bike and maybe the elliptical, too.

Your bowls are beautiful JB! I was feeling accomplished that I can ut in screws now with y driver and no cheater. You and Grim would have loved the side trip we took yesterday to a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Kankakee Illinois. It's on the banks of the Kankakee River and was built by Wright in 1901. Most gorgeous home I have ever seen and had amazing wood trim and the original furniture that he designed as well. Also learned that he was more productive in the last 20 years before he died at 91 so I'm not feeling quite so bad about turning 60 in a few weeks! Plans today are church and a meeting and some walks with Miss Lily. No walks yet as it's thundering and raining. Accountability was perfect yesterday both food and stepwise and weight is 121.2 today. Here's the food plan for the day B 2/3c earnest eats hot cereal L 4oz deli chicken and cheese D4 oz bacon cheddar burger no bun S if needed 1 serv pork rinds. Have a great day full of healthy choices everyone!

Sounds great! I have been to a few Frank Lloyd Wright houses. Such amazing design and innovation! I am excited to look that one up!

Thanks!

I enjoyed Spying on the South byTony Horowitz, did you read that one? Haven't heard of Settling the South... how is it?

Educated was a great read but once I was done I had some questions... and it sounds like the entire internet has that same ones, haha. I don't doubt her truths, but maybe just the context?

It's actually spying on the south - not sure if I did that or autocorrect did. It's my audible for my commute right now and I like it. I have read all his stuff and I don't think it's as good as Confederates in the Attic or the captain cook one but I like it.

Wow - you are a morning person. I struggled as one of my boys was up from 4:30 - 5:30, but eventually he went back down and didn't get up until 7, his brother slept until 7:30 which is wild. Normally 6:30 is a good morning.

I have a semi busy day planned. I was going to go to yoga, but I told my 12 year old, that I would do a workout with him. He is showing a little interest and I want to support it anyway I can. He isn't competitive and doesn't like sports. But his father has started him lifting weights and I want to make sure the form is right and add in some cardio. I'm hoping we can do that this morning before it rains.

Then I'm going to a baby resale event around noon with a friend. Then I have like 5 football games to watch. I might try to go to a restorative yoga class tonight. And someone posted about a meeting. I haven't been to one in ages. My old meeting used to be on Sundays so maybe I should go to that. It might help.

All that plus support my husband in caring for two 9 month old boys. Oh and laundry and baths for the boys. Busy Sunday!

Accountability: pretty good. I was starting around 4pm, so I added in a chicken thigh and some brussel sprouts. So I had two dinners but the choices were good. I did a yoga class and took a long walk with all three boys.

QOTD: I'm only reading business types books right now. 7 habits of highly effective people -- I'm reading this for the second time. Some really good things in it right now. I'm also going through a lean six sigma book.

Today - here is the plan.

Exercise is going to be 3 sets of light weights with my son and a jog around the block after each set.

Good morning, everybody!

JB, those bowls are amazing, great job. I was hoping that there was a picture of you standing on the pallet, however.

Marilyn blames me because she can't lift her purse. She got a Facebook notification that my gym was doing the fundraiser from last Wednesday, signed up on her own and came to the gym to do the scaled version of the workout. She scoffed at my suggestion that she start back more slowly. There were three rounds of thirty knee push-ups in the scaled workout and she has been in muscle soreness hell ever since. She say's that it has become my fault because she wanted to be supportive. Arguing with her doesn't seem to be a good idea.

As Karen said, its raining pretty hard here, so I think that I will defer the painting until next weekend and do a few inside tasks. Also I will try and run 5.35 miles to get to an even 30 at the halfway point of the challenge.

QOTD: Timely question. I just submitted my 2020 Folio Society order this week: Anansi Boys, by Neil Gaman, To Love and Be Wise, Josephine Tey, Persian Fire, Tom Holland, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, John Berendt, The House of Borgia, Christopher Hibbert , the Twelve Caesars.

A book that I enjoyed recently was Love and War in The Apennines, by Eric Newby. Its about a captured and then escaped British Special forces agent, hiding in the Italian countryside between the fall of Mussolini and the end of World War 2. He is helped to evade the Fascists and Germans by the Italian villagers and falls for a beautiful Slovenian. ( - I know one those).

Breakfast: Bratwurst

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: We are going to try Chaffles

Snack: Light and Fit

Dinner: steak

Have a great day, all!
