What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
on 9/14/19 2:42 am
Wow, I finally got a chance to come back and look at all of the before & afters. Are we a great looking bunch, or what? I didn't comment on anything this morning, because I am trying to get myself going, but please know how inspirational I found every single one! Thanks for putting yourselves out there and sharing!
Accountability: Well, I didn't have 20 tacos, but I did have 1.5 ahi tuna tacos and a big old margarita last night, hanging out with an old friend. It was great to catch up. It's so nice to be able to have free time again to see friends! I didn't realize how much that was contributing to my overall stress last year. So yes... tacos and margaritas = balance :)
I also thought I wouldn't have time for exercise but I managed to get in almost 4 miles! Woot!
QOTD: Do you keep your off season clothing in your closet or packed away? Mine is up in the attic and I can't get to it on my own. The temps here suddenly plummeted from the mid-80s to the low 60s and I don't have anything to wear! I must must must swap out my wardrobe tomorrow! Must!
Grim and I taking an all day woodworking class today! We'll be learning to make a bowl using the lathe. The best part is that unless I really screw something up, we should come home with a finished bowl today, unlike the classes we've taken in Maine that require a lot more work, even after 2 full days.
The class is all day and the description doesn't say anything about lunch, so I assume they will give us a break and we will be on our own? And tonight is my first night trying chaffles! Yum!
Exercise: Maybe a little bike time this morning before we leave? I have some work I need to finish up this morning, so we'll see if I have time.

Mornin'!
the organization I chair has its first meeting of the season this morning, so I'm headed over there early. There's a buffet brunch there, so I'll stick to the egg casserole (has cheese and vegetables in it) and have a little fresh fruit. No other meals out for the weekend, so this should be fairly easy food-wise. My mother-in-law wants to go look at potential cats today or tomorrow, so we'll hit some shelters. Other than that...??? I should probably measure our large suitcase to see if it will work for my India trip. Hopefully I'll be able to pack everything because I only want to take one checked bag and one carry on. Even THAT seems like a lot to lug around - I certainly don't want to take any more than that! (we're allowed to take two 50 lb checked bags, but no way do I want to deal with all that - esp since we'll be staying at four or five different places).
accountability was good yesterday. Weight down a little this morning. YAY!
QOTD: Everything I wear - summer and winter - is in my walk-in closet. I have stuff I rarely wear in the closets of our two spare bedrooms...but we have a ranch house so they're all on the same level. DH has his own standard-sized closet in our room - plus he uses a dresser, too (I don't...except for socks and underwear).
4 years 3 months out:
MS: coffee with half & half
Brunch: egg casserole and fresh fruit. Probably more coffee with half & half, too
L or AS: salad with diced turkey and light dressing
D: the other half of my turkey & avocado sandwich from yesterday. And maybe some baby carrots with ranch Greek yogurt dip.
have a great day, everyone!
Good morning menu friends! QOTD my off season clothes at home are stored away but luckily I do keep jackets and some long sleeved items in the camper too. Its lucky because it got chilly here over night too. I too need to switch out clothes in the 31/2 days that we'll be at home soon. I find it truly amazing that I'm wearing clothes now comfortably that I've had for 7 years. That is just unthinkable! We got all the set up work done to start our big yearly meeting so lots of tables and chairs were moved and set up. Lots of extra steps taken yesterday and 3 walks with Lily so accountability was spot on. Weight is 121.4 today. One hour of walking already done this am and more to come too. Here's the food plan for the day B 2/3c earnest eats hot cereal L 4oz chicken and cheese D 4 oz bacon cheddar burger no bun S if needed 3/4 c smartfood popcorn. Have a great day full of smart and healthy choices!
QOTD: I have all my clothes in my closet. It keeps things bit messy but I'm in Chicago so we really only have like 3 months where you don't need access to sweaters.
Accountability: Last night changed unexpectedly. Lucas had a fever so I had to cancel my night out with my girlfriends and all our babies. I didn't want to pass on germs. My husband had a really crap day at work and wanted to order out. I ended up having about half of the cheesecake factory lettuce wraps but my overall day still landed pretty good. I also got in a really tough crossfit class and took my 3 boys on a walk afterwards.
Plan for today -- this is still a little up in the air. We may go to a baby shower over lunch, but we might not b/c we don't want to pass on the baby germs. If we go, my lunch will swap to something from maggianos. I'm hoping to get to yoga this morning.
Happy Saturday! Nice, crisp air, feels great. Enjoy the woodworking class. Both my mom and dad dabbled in woodworking; the lathe mesmerized me.
QOTD: I downsized last year with the move; I have a closet, large bureau and highboy dresser stuffed, but everything is ready for whatever the weather. LOL!

Good morning, everybody!
I've been up early and already out and about. Still have a number of things to do today and possibly the tennis party tonight. It probably says a lot about me that I would rather stay home and scrape paint off of my house trim then go out to a party, but I'm committed to go.
I'm also going to try and get a few miles in towards the September challenge this afternoon, if the gym isn't too taxing. I would really like to be half way done by September 15th.
Hope the Cali girls are having a great brunch.
QOTD: Between the casual office and the Chicago weather, there isn't that much difference between summer and winter clothes for men. Occasional polo shirts in the summer and sweaters in the winter, but by and large, its dress pants and shirts, sports coats and the Friday jeans. Everything stays in the same place year round.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: Protein Bar
Lunch:Bratwurst
Snack: Jerky
Dinner: tennis party
Have a great day all!

Hey menu peeps! Training run #7 is done. I'm currently waiting for my car to be inspected. I used the massage chairs at the gym, had breakfast at McDonald's and grocery shopped to kill time. No plans this weekend really- I'll be out of town next week for training so am trying to meal prep for the family.
Qotd: 95% of my fall/winter clothes are packed away in bins in the basement. I usually keep jeans and a few long sleeve tops around for oddly chilly evenings. It's what I'm wearing today. I won't switch my clothes out until I come back from Colorado next week.
No weigh today, 4.5 years out
m1: fairlife protein shake
m2: egg McMuffin & bacon biscuit (1/2 of the muffin/biscuit removed)
m3: meatballs and sauce
m4: something small if I'm feeling like it.

Good morning! Again, almost afternoon. It's the first weekend in a while we haven't had plans, so I got up and went to the gym, even though it's getting nice enough outside that I should start waking/jogging outdoors again. I made bacon and eggs when I got home, and now I'm binge watching Vampire Diaries. I've watched some before but never straight through. It's deliciously dramatic and suspenseful and stupid.
qotd: my closet is too small to keep it all out, though I don't have as much to put away for summer--a lot of my summer T-shirt's and tanks I'll still layer with fall sweaters and cardigans
breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs and 2 strips of bacon
coffee with SF pumpkin spice creamer all morning
lunch: cottage cheese? Yogurt? Breakfast was late and I'm still full, so probably just a snack
dinner: steak and zucchini

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I so wi**** would hurry up and turn cooler here! Fall is my favorite time of year, but we are lucky if we see cooler temps by November. There have even been a few occasions where everyone was dressed in shorts and t-shirts at our family Christmas party because temps were in the 80's. Ah the joys of living in the south. Though there was that odd snow fall we had a couple years ago that pretty much shut down the whole town. That was an interesting experience. Snow is just such a foreign thing to us down here. Lol
QOTD: all of my clothes stay in my closet because I could practically wear my summer clothes all year. We do have some cold days though which only require a light sweater or jacket. Then the even more rare super cold days where the temps are in the 30's-40's (yes that's super cold to us southerners! Lol) and we are all decked out in our Eskimo gear.
B: premier shake
B2: coffee w/Splenda and sugar free coffee mate
L: L&F yogurt with banana and granola
D: leftover zoodle dish from Olive Garden

Good Saturday evening.
tried chicken again today and it was a no go still. Feels like it's sitting on the top of my diaphragm at the base of my sternum. Just a funky feeling. I was able to tell early so no throwing it up...less than 1/2 oz in. Sooooo I had a PP shake instead.
qotd:I just have some sweaters, light jackets and I need a new coat for this year. We have a bin in the basement with our winter stuff. I usually was so hot natured that all my clothing worked year round. I'm looking for long sleeved shirts at the thrift store for this year.
b:pP shake
s:1oz cheese and a small bit of fresh raspberries
l:shredded cabbage cooked with mushrooms & onions, a little less than half a cup with a chopped half a slice of turkey bacon
s:2 ritz crackers, two good yogurt
d: 1/2 oz chicken, 1 tbs salsa, 1/2 tbs shredded cheese and mostly a PP shake
s:roasted seaweed and maybe another two good yogurt.
