I did the historic tour of the Stanley last summer and it was one of my favorite travel experiences!! I love history and all the stories about the hotel.

Mornin'!

I have to run over to the lab this morning - I had a couple of readings back early in the summer than were, although still in the normal range, trending in the wrong direction, so my bariatric surgeon wanted them re-done. I'm surprised he wants the full panel re-done as opposed to just the ones that were "bad" (PTH and ferritin - although not yet "bad", but again, headed in the wrong direction), but...whatever. I plan to go over there when they open because I have a busy day ahead.

after that, I have a breakfast meeting with one group - and my film discussion group meets over lunch. Then I have a few things to do this afternoon to get ready for a brunch meeting tomorrow morning. Eating will be a challenge the next couple of days. I overdid it a bit at the lunch meeting yesterday, so I didn't eat the rest of the day -- and ended up within range calorie-wise (thank God..) - although I was pretty low on protein. I'll try to see if I can do a better balancing act today. One day of low protein is probably OK - not two.

QOTD: RNY was a no-brainer for me because I had GERD. But even if I hadn't, I was leaning towards it anyway. Like JB, I wanted a surgery that had years of data behind it. At the time, VSG was just becoming popular, and I was a little afraid of it becoming "Lapband II". It's since proven itself, but I'm still glad I went with RNY when I read all the revision postings.

4 years 3 months out:

B: I think I'll go with the eggs benedict - they sound like the best choice on the menu, sadly

MS: nothing

L: the ahi poke and the beef pho dip sandwich look like the best choices on THAT menu (the beef pho just has hoisin sauce as a condiment - and you dip it in pho broth - so the only bad thing is the bread, which is easy enough to avoid)

AS: nothing - or if needed, baby carrots with ranch Greek dip

D: not sure where I'm going to end up calorie-wise. If high, then probably turkey deli slices. If I have a little wiggle room, then maybe a Beyond Meat bratwurst.

recent pic (from last spring):

I think this was taken the night before my surgery. Sadly, not my highest weight - but awful enough!

this was from about a year ago, I think

this was my staff picture from 2017. I was at my thinnest here (two years out from surgery), so I would have been around 138 lbs. I've been hovering around 150 for the last year.

staff pic from sometime before surgery (obviously!)

have a great day, all!

I think you're right, even though I wasn't happy about it at first. I do think I look better than I did in the 130s. Plus my body fat percentage was 22% when I had it checked at 146 lbs - so it would have been really low if I was in the 130s. And of course, 150 is easier to maintain, too (not easy, of course - but much easier...)

Love the cat pic JB! Speaking of cats--we are camped in a far corner of a county fairground in front of some woods. Last night hubby cooked green onion brats on the grill and we sat outside under the awning and ate. I left the dirty dishes and one leftover brat on the table and we went for a walk with Lily. Came back half an hour later to a cat sitting on the table and finishing our supper for us. He wasn't chubby though and probably enjoyed it! QOTD chose RNY because of my diabetes and it had a lot more data which gave me comfort. Lily and I walked an hour already and will do more later. Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 121.4. Here's the food plan for the day B 3 protein pancakes with sugar free syrup L 4 oz deli chicken and cheese D 4 oz of whatever protein hubby cooks. I only have one before pic as I avoided cameras at all costs. I weighed 278 in it and low 120s in all the others.
