What's on your (BEFORE & AFTER PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Hello Friday, JB, and Menuers,
What a bunch of good looking people. Congratulations to all of you for your success and due diligence and commitment to this lifestyle. You are all my heroes.
QOTD: I choose VSG but god choose the RNY I had complications and had to switch withing 7 days of my first surgery. I had a shot of Dilaudid that put me in a tail spin and I was throwing up every 4 hours and was on a continual IV so not to dehydrate. I went into the Hospital on December 11,2017 and did not leave till December 22, 2017. I told no one I was having the surgery so I left my husband with the task of covering up for me. I really thought I was going to die. Guess what I'm still here and would not change anything. I learned a lot in those first couple months and it did not take long to get on track and embrace the lifestyle. So those of you who are having trouble at the beginning I am living proof it gets better quickly just follow the program and listen to your surgeon.

Hi all! Had a bit of a rough day, totally brain-fried after a long day at work and high anxiety, which sucked. So today I'm going for some self-care, I'm going to leave work a bit early and go for a nice long swim at the gym. I haven't gotten to swim laps since surgery and I'm really looking forward to it.
QOTD: I picked VSG because I was worried about malabsorption of my psych meds mostly. 5 years later I ended up with bad GERD and a stretched sleeve and had to revise, only this time my surgeon said my psych meds would be just fine. If I'd known the meds wouldn't be an issue, I might have gone with RNY in the first place.
Pics!
Before: This was Halloween 2012, I think, and I weighed about 290 I think.
Facebook shot from the local Humane Society where I volunteered as an adoption counselor for several years:
Selfie taken just now, 200lb and size 12
Almost one year after my VSG, I think I was about 160 (size 4ish) at this point? I did lose a bit more weight after that point, but I'd like to get to 160 - 170 after my revision.
Chow:
B - half of a protein bar
L - Greek yogurt
D - chicken burrito bowl, no rice
S - all the Fairlife
Happy Friday everybody!

That ride was one of my biggest post-op goals for myself. Before surgery, I could ride one or two miles before being completely exhausted. Afterwards, I did a 40 mile race and even did it in a respectable time!
This year will be my fourth time doing that same ride, my dad and I are doing a 50 mile route. Lots of training to do in the next six weeks, but I think we can pull it off!
