hi all
missed yesterday , OH was being buggy so didn't post. Well the mattress needed to be replaced so had to go buy one yesterday and a good one was not cheap. I slept until 2 am then had to get up and lay in the other room. DH was snoring and I couldn't get comfortable.
QOTD: I feel like my life is a vacation lately, this is my first full week in Chattanooga so that is different. I think DH is going back tomm to the house with dogs. then I will be all alone. We are going on a cruise in nov - a huge family cruise. trying to lose about 20 pounds before then or maybe even 10 would be great.
Food for today:
grilled chicken strips from aldi, veggies, low carb tortilla
more chicken strips salad
tuna with greens
I think dinner is rotis chicken and side dishes.

Good morning, everybody!
Marilyn considers herself a type A Personality. But can you really be Type A if you watch Let's Make a Deal every morning? I think there is some grade inflation and easy comparison going on. Maybe she's a Type B, and me and the boys are Type C - we're pretty chill. Out of all three of us, my youngest is the most relaxed. We'll come back to that later.
You guys know that I've been doing some painting. Mainly some trim and doors outside of the house. But there is one spot inside that needs to be painted. The ceiling in our family room doesn't quite match. Part of it is a real eggshell white. Another spot of it is just a little bit off. Kind of a bluish, grayish tint. Eventually, I will have to add that ceiling to my list.
Lot's of parents of teens on this page. And if you have, or have had teens, you know about the showers. Supposedly the average person takes a seven minute shower. No teenager takes a seven minute shower. There are two levels: (a) no shower (gas mask), and (b) endless shower (mildew). At one point, we could not get our youngest into the shower and could not get our oldest out of the shower.
Several years ago, we had our master bath remodeled and our oldest was taking such long showers that the paint was starting to peel of the bathroom walls. Finally, we had to tell him that, although our new bathroom was lovely, it was not a commercial facility and not designed to be in use all day long. Sadly, he trudged back to the children's bathroom.
I must have been traveling for work because Marilyn was home alone. One day, she finally got the oldest out of the shower and the youngest into it and was downstairs watching TV, quite contentedly. I would like to say she was watching Let's Make a Deal, but that's probably not true. Anyways, after awhile, she thought she heard a noise in our downstairs bathroom. She went in and checked it out but didn't notice anything. A little while later, she heard the same noise and went back into the downstairs bathroom. This time she noticed tha****er was streaming out of the ceiling.
She ran upstairs and started knocking on the Master Bath door. Nothing. Finally, she picked the lock and pushed open the bathroom door. When she opened the door, a wave of water came surging into the bedroom. She waded into the bathroom, made her way to the shower and turned off the water.
I told you that my youngest was pretty casual. Apparently, he found the ho****er so soothing that he decided to take a nice nap. Which would be great if we had that kind of shower with elaborate benches all around it. But, unfortunately, we have the other type of shower. The type of shower that has a drain in the middle. And when he lay down for his nap, he covered the drain entirely.
When I got home, we tore out the old drywall ceiling and put in a new one, patched and putied it, and the re-painted that portion. But we never quite matched the color. It's on my list.
QOTD: We are going to West Palm Beach in two weeks for our wedding anniversary. We had purchased two nights at the Breakers as part of a charity auction a few years ago and the coupon is about to expire. Hopefully we will get good weather. In a few more weeks, I am going to Waco Texas to meet my daughter's boyfriend. I'm actually a little nervous about that.
Breakfast: None because I have bloodwork
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: steak
Snack: Light and fit
Dinner: TBD
Have a great Day, all!

OMG dying! His body covered up the drain?! That's insane. Marilyn must have been like "WHAT THE EVER LOVING HELL".
My 13 year old stepson resists the shower at all costs. He makes a million excuses. And then when he gets in, he's in for 45 minutes!
A frequent refrain in our house is "it's NORMAL to shower every day".
