I did okay! I hoped to be able to get in a few more miles during the week, but it is really hard to find the time with my commute. I am still figuring out new routines with the new job, and I'm not in a rhythm yet. When I drive myself, I don't have a problem going right to gym after work, but when Grim picks me up from the train there is no way I want to leave the house again when I get home. I might have to start sucking up the cost to park at the train station myself so that I get there ever day.
In related news... I do have a treadmill at home, but I don't use it in the summer because it is in an unairconditioned room and it is miserable. It was cool enough yesterday, so I popped on, but somehow it became miscalibrated and the speed was way off! It was starting off at a much higher speed than I set it to (I needed to jog when it was set to 2mph!). At first I just went with it and decided I could compensate and run even though it was set slow, but then after a few minutes it jerked and slowed down on it's own. I tried setting the speed a few times, but after .5 miles I decided it wasn't safe. Does anyone have any experience recalibrating a treadmill? I am going to put Grim on the job today. Running at home would be so much more convenient, and my achilles just isn't ready to pound pavement, yet, so I am stuck being a treadmill runner.

It looks like people are doing great so far. It's tough to keep up with the Cali girls and Kim - they put up big crooked numbers every day!
Yesterday was the first time that I have run more than 5K in close to 25 years. My first 5K was 34:53. Deadlifting after the 5K run was hard. I did 165 pounds four times. Between catching my breath, putting weights on the bar, recording my time, etc. I only got two attempts in, one at 135 and one at 165. One woman did 200 pounds - more than her body weight - immediately after running her first 5K leg.
The second 5K was much slower 37:03. Push Jerk was 95 pounds for the four times. Then I collapsed! Hoping to get a few miles in today and try to stay ahead of the game.

I'm a creature of habit regarding the time I get out, but I do vary my route every day, hence the weird mileage.
I've been lucky in that Jim walked with me every day but Wednesday - when I'm on my own I listen to podcasts (Dan Savage this week ) but definitely prefer having company.
We're hiking a state park today, so hopefully we'll enjoy it more than the trails around our sub division - itll be interesting to see where has the most off leash dogs! I'm sorry sure more excited about it than Jim.
Ever onward! Good job everyone!
ETA: Jim wanted to stay local, so we hiked our neighbourhood. Still over 7 miles, so woo hoo!

This is really motivating me, everyday - so thanks again JB! I'm even going to the gym tomorrow, on a Monday which I normally avoid like the plague, haha. I am more active in general too - all good stuff!
Bring it!!

I got a new pair of roller skates for skating outside, so I'm planning to do that on the trail near my office on my lunch break. They're purple and green and I love them! I'll snag a picture tomorrow.
I might bring my bike once in a while, too, it's pretty easy to do a loop of about 8 miles during lunch.
