Purchase a smoothie maker or not?
I bought a Magic Bullet after surgery. I wore out three of them in the three years after surgery. Then I started to have regain and was told to stop drinking calories.
I did like using the Magic Bullet for protein shakes blended with lots of ice. I got good at making them taste great. I don't know how long you will be on shakes. I bought it to also puree things, but was out of the puree stage after two weeks.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I bought a Magic Bullet and gave it away, I just didn't find it useful. I did buy a little Oster Shake Blender about $17 on Amazon and I used it much more. I bought the Syntrax Nectars and use if for those, it also includes the bottle. I would recommend a sample pack of Snytrax Nectar and figure out the ones you like. They are whey protein isolate and 23g protein & 100 calories. Roadside Lemonade is my favorite.

"Dr. V," a bariatric surgeon on youtube pushes green smoothies with spinach and fruit hard. I just ordered a ninja blender at his recommendation. My surgery is in 6 weeks. I already have a magic bullet from my lapband surgery in 2005. I'm confused. Perhaps the smoothies during the liquid diet phase and then eliminate liquid calories?
I like Dr V, and have watched a lot of his stuff. His protocol may or may not line up with your surgeon's. I get that making a green smoothie creates a nutrient density that is hard to get right after surgery with the volume of food you can eat being so limited. Personally I found blenders created too much foam and volume to go down comfortably.
