What's on your Sunday Menu, RNYers?
on 9/1/19 4:12 am
I hope you all had a lovely start to the weekend! I did! It was not at all the day I planned, but it was great! My parents called early in the day and wanted to get together. We decided on heading to Cape Cod for a kite festival. Well, it was a lovely day (bright sunshine and low 80s), so it was a nice day to be outside, but the "kite festival" was a huge let-down. There was a little tent on the beach and they were giving a way these teeny plastic kites to little kids. Not quite what we envisioned, lol.
Today I need to spend some time going through my closet and giving some clothes to goodwill, along with other household chores...
Accountability: Literally didn't eat even one thing on the menu. I had a DELICIOUS lobster roll on the Cape, then we went for tacos for dinner! Does it get any better? We were also gone all day, so I never made it to the gym.
QOTD: Do you start your day with a hot beverage? I used to only want iced coffee, but as I get older I feel like I NEED a hot cup of coffee before I do anything. I drink plenty of iced throughout the day, but the first cup has to be hot!
I am not ready to post a real menu yet... I really need to clean out the fridge and go grocery shopping. But here is my rough outline:
- B: Protein coffee (hot, lol!)
- S: 1 Costco Egg Bite
- L: Leftover Grilled Chicken Tacos
- S: Black Beans
- D: ???? can't even guess yet.
Exercise: Let's try yesterday's plan again!
- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)
Good morning, everybody!
JB, Cape Cod sounds like a great day, despite the diminutive kites. Did you get to swim? I love how the water gets so warm late summer and even into October. My younger sister has been Instagramming from Nantucket and I am jelly! They found an AirBnB with a little pool and it looks wonderful. Also, she flew, which seems so opulent. I guess I'm just a ferry guy.
Our neighborhood is turning into a rabbit warren. They seem to be all sizes now, which is odd given that it is getting towards Fall. I always assumed that the bunnies coupled in the Spring and that the baby rabbits grew up during the summer. But now I've got rabbit tykes running all around and about.
In previous years, each morning, the rabbits would play an elaborate, one-sided game of cat and mouse with me as I went out to my car. I would see them scamper away and watch me go to work, smugly relieved that I had not hunted them. Well, apparently they finally realized that I was not Elmer Fudd, appearances to the contrary. The other day, I almost tripped on one walking to my car. He just looked up at me, said "wat up, homes?" and went back to eating.
Although I am a little shy of a Biology degree, my recollection is that learned behaviors are not inherited, so there must now be an oral tradition among the rabbits that I am harmless.
I don't have a whole lot planned for today. I bought a new phone today as required by my firm's IT department, so I will need to get that set-up. Also, I may start the September 50 mile challenge. Hopefully, that is a real thing and Amber and Amy are not trolling me. Marilyn will be watching the US Open.
QOTD: My very start is a cold Bai water with Miralax and Benefibre, but soon after that I want warm Decaf. I love the warmth, smell, and taste of coffee. I drink only warm. I don't miss the caffeine.
Breakfast: Tacos
Snack: Protein Bar
Lunch: Bratwurst
Snack: Jerky
Diner:TBD
Have great day, all!

They are running out of X's. The first Target we went to didn't have any iPhones at all, so the sales lady called around and found me an XS in a neighboring town. We drove over and I grabbed that. They asked me how many photos I had stored, and when I told them 37, they said that they were comfortable that I didn't need additional memory. Finally, we went to the Apple store and bought a folding case.

Excellent! If only 37 pix, you won't miss the upgraded camera (or need the larger storage).

I used to have a pet rabbit so I read a lot of books about them and if I remember correctly, they just procreate all the damn time because they are so fragile and likely to die--it's just a numbers game to keep the species going. I remember reading this one book that had a chapter about what can kill a bunny, and they can literally die from being startled! It's really a miracle that they made it this long!
The 50 Mile Challenge is ON! I made a separate post about it with a google doc to sign up and keep track! Let's do it!

Good morning! I would pick soft tacos for sure. Cape Cod would be fun, but I would have laughed getting all the way out there and then finding what the "festival" really was -- that's the fun of spontenaity, right?
i had a very low key day yesterday and today I have a late afternoon birthday party about 90 minutes drive east so will spend the day doing stuff around the house and then go out there.
After I finish the pot of coffee, my meals today will be
4 oz green chile chicken breasts x 2
qotd - I usually start with a glass of water and then switch to coffee, hot, delicious, life giving coffee!!
I know I will have caprese salad (since I'm bringing that to the party) and I'm guessing some type of bbq meat, plus I'll have a yogurt or cottage cheese at some point if I need it.
have a fabulous Sunday all!
