Revisions after Bypass

Hey Everyone,
I realize that this is the RNY forum and I do not have a RNY; however, it is the most active, helpful forum for me so I take what I can use and so much of it has been helpful.
At my last bariatric appointment I was talking about my ongoing issue with my GJ feeding tube and bile. My surgeon is wanting to do another scope and tenatively move forward with revising my (revised from VSG for medical reasons to MGB), my MGB to an RNY connection because he thinks it might help divert some of the bile away from refluxing and a better route for my anatomy. Part of me hopes that the tests confirm we can move forward and this would fix things and part of me is terrified of another surgery.
I appreciate the posts here even though I haven't had much to offer in posts in some time.

Thank you. I am honestly quite worried. I know the bile is causing so many issues but I don't know what the scope will show at this point and what the surgeon will decide to do or how I will respond, if it is the right choice, etc. Meh... I just need things to get better and despite weighing options it hasn't gone well for me as far as healing, which is my main concern. I appreciate your positive feedback. I know most people don't have issues with either GERD or bile reflux but I am trying to decide that this might be a good choice if it is an option going forward.

Yes, I had read the tight system thing about VSG, (which is why the scarring did so much damage to other parts of my upper GI like a hernia, the increased GERD, etc.) When the surgeon did the modified MGB it was to restore a route for hydration and nutrition. He did a short bypass, which reduced the malabsorption but could not go shorter because of the risk of bile reflux, which is what I worry I may be dealing with now as bile is such a big deal. GERD is now also still an issue even though I don't technically have a sleeve. I have a pouch like a bypass attached to a loop of small intestine and after some bypassed intestine I have a bit of stomach with the pyloric valve like in other bypass - it is just that I had the sleeve first. I did well at first but then developed stitch ulcers and other issues with my small intestines, etc. My body just has not healed well despite the skill of my surgeons. That is my main concern. I will keep trying though. I am inspired by so many of you and I am thankful for the real posts here at OH, where it isn't all rainbows and unicorns, but so many veterans sharing how they have been successful despite how life has unfolded. That is where the gold is. ;)
