i don't live in the most culturally diverse of areas. I also never eat out save once or twice a year. I have no idea if there is a pho restaurant here.
i finally decided to try pho broth. I found some inexpensive concentrate at world market. I love this stuff, a hot cup at night has literally saved me from imploding food wise. I'll be exploring making my own but atm this veggie pho concentrate is just my cup of tea.
my point I guess is to listen to what people suggest here. There is very many wise folks here...listen!

You are so cute! Trying new things is fun; I have a requirement of myself to try something new once a month. Lately it's been more on the new activity side of things but trying a new food or beverage is always fun too!

I make my own pho broth and drink it like tea. It is very easy. Slice an onion, garlic, lemongrass, whole cardamom pods, star anise and cinnamon sticks and roast under the broiler in your oven until you start to smell the spices and the onion is charred. Add them to your favorite stock. I like chicken or beef, but veggie works well too, and simmer covered on the stove. I generally do 3-4 hours. Makes my house smell like heaven. You can also use a slow cooker. Cook on low all day or night. It is the best cold weather beverage.
