G'morning JB & Menu peeps!

Happy you are feeling better and no longer the new kid on the block.

DD and I are going to a new place later today to thread our eyebrows. We both have thick dark eyebrows so always on a search for a good place for threading. Our favorite gal moved on to nail art so we are trying new places. In DC she has found a Turkish woman who is really good. In our little town is harder, so a couple of towns over I have found a woman from Palestine who has a threading place. Anyway mother-daughter bonding over eyebrows later this afternoon.

QOTD: on a regular telecommute day 1/2 hr. On actual going to work days about an hr. I just realized it takes me half hr to get dressed for work...wow that's a long time.

My meals for the day:

  • Coffee, coffee, and more coffee
  • HB eggs + tuna
  • Crockpot pulled pork
  • Home made yogurt or Parm cheese

Happy hump day.

Ohhhh, explain what threading is? I see signs for it but how is it different than waxing or plucking? I did sugaring once and that was not effective so I"ve been afraid to try anything "new".

Threading is when they take a long piece of thread, twist it up in their fingers, lay it against your skin so it can catch all the hairs, then yank on the thread to spin it and yank the hair up with it.

It doesn't bother your skin the way that waxing does, it's way faster than plucking, and I've had much better luck of having it done with no strays!

What Julie said...and it's better and more effective for bushy eyebrows, not only for the actual hair but also the shaping of the eyebrows. I wouldn't trust the ones at the malls, but I would look for one who actually has a store and yelp reviews. I noticed women from Middle East are great at threading.

I have never tried it. I am an obsessive tweezer and the one time I let someone wax them for me (part of a bridal party spa day) they really screwed up the shape. I haven't let anyone else near them since, but I am sure I should reclaim that time in my life, lol.

You should let them grow and start from scratch with threading. I go in every 6 weeks and it's only 10 minutes. The first time it's a little but bit longer because the woman has to shape the eyebrow, after that it's just cleaning.

Good Morning JB and Menuers!!!

Ok I hit the gym hard yesterday and can't wait to get back today. As much as I loved having my bestie in town for the past month I felt good knowing I had nothing but gym on my schedule this week and I am on a gym schedule.

Accountability yesterday was spot on. Followed menu exactly and liquid, vitamins and exercise was right on point.

I made these amazing Keto cauliflower hash browns yesterday. I made them a couple Sundays ago in the oven and they were good but last night I decided to chuck them in the waffle maker and they were so good. I stick a lot of things in the waffle maker that you many not think belong there but remember it is a heat source and easy to clean up. Pre surgery I used to fold cold pizza so no sauce or cheese would be on the hot plates and sma**** My friends would think I made some great appetizer and it was just leftover pizza i pulled out the fridge.

Keto Cauliflower hash brown.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups grated cauliflower
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg (I used two eggs when i put it in the waffle iron)
  • 1/4 cup real bacon bits
  • 1 tablespoon diced chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
  • cooking spray

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Place grated cauliflower in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook on high for 2 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  3. Wring cauliflower in a clean dish towel, squeezing out as much moisture as possible. Transfer cauliflower to a large mixing bowl. Add Cheddar cheese, egg, bacon bits, chives, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Mix well.
  4. Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray. Divide cauliflower mixture into 6 equal portions, making sure to leave space between each one. Flatten with your hands and shape into ovals.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until browned, about 15 minutes. Turn broiler on low and broil until crispy, about 5 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes to firm up.
  6. or stick them in your waffle iron like i did.

Yum. My son used my waffle maker while living in the dorm, used it for all kinds of things. Started with "lumpy grilled cheese".

Yum! I used to have a panini press and made some very good things, but I decided to get rid of it before surgery, so I wouldn't be tempted to fall into the cheesy bread habits that got me into this mess... But no one told me there could be cauliflower hash browns! Dammit!
