Fecal incontinence while sleeping?
This morning I woke up at 5am to find myself sleeping in my own poop. I had fecal incontinence in the middle of the night. Has hat ever happened to any of you and what may have caused it? I don't think my bowel was completely empty before bed.
Hello. I did a search on this site for "fecal incontinence" and there is actually a thread on the topic.

Thank you!! This link was very helpful. I think it's something GB patients don't talk about or don't have.
I see that you've had surgery recently. Just to eliminate the obvious, are you taking a stool softener? You may no longer need it. ;^)
You might be coming down with a bug. If so, you'll probably know from the vomiting and diarrhoea starting later today.
Otherwise, I would contact my medical team for advice. This isn't a common symptom for WLS patients.
You do need to contact your surgeon and discuss this. Causes can be diet, organ prolapse, lack of fiber, or other causes. Don't wait for it to get better. Get to a doctor, find out what is going on, and get treatment.
This is not caused by weight loss surgery, but can definitely be related to dietary changes.
