What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Mornin' All!
my weight is really up this morning, so I'm going to be laser focused this week. I need to get this off before it becomes a problem. I don't think I exercised at all last week, so there's that, too. Once I'm done with this post, I'm going to look at the yoga studio and gym offers this week and pick at least two from each - and more importantly, GO!
I found a nice mid-century dresser at an antique store yesterday that I'm tempted to go back and buy (funny how mid-century things are now considered "antiques"). It'll replace this cheap-ish one I bought new about 20 years ago, which now has a drawer that's sticking (same fate as my old chest of drawers, which we replaced a few months with a well-made mid-century one). I learned my lesson about cheap furniture. Although I guess since I got 20 years out of it, maybe it's OK. I got some use out of it. But this "new" one is very well-made and should far outlive me (it was made by G Plan, a British manufacturer).
not much on the agenda today - or much of this week. Yay! I need to run around posting some more flyers today and tomorrow, though - and make some headway on some other things I keep pushing off.
QOTD: I don't do fat free at all anymore - and haven't for several years. In fact, I've tried to ADD healthy fats into my diet because it keeps me satisfied longer than pretty much anything else. As for sugar free, I rarely buy sugar free treats since they're a slippery slope for me, but I use artificial sweeteners or SF Torani syrups when I make certain things at home - like fruit compotes (that I love on yogurt and protein pancakes!) or crustless protein pumpkin pie.
4 years 2 months out:
B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt, diced peach, and SF syrup, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: maybe just cottage cheese
AS: light yogurt and/or raw veggies
D: salad with diced turkey breast
ex: planning that as soon as I get off this thing!!

Good morning everyone. It was a wonderful weekend. I can feel fall in the air a bit this morning. Its supposed to be 85 this today. I love the cool mornings, perfect for walking.
Say a prayer for my daughter today! They have asked her to shadow the lead RN for the job she wants. She interviewed again Friday. They called Friday afternoon and asked if she was available today. I feel like she got the job.
Does anyone ever have food guilt? I ate a street taco yesterday and the corn tortilla. I normally don't eat the tortilla. It wasn't even that good. I felt hungry all day yesterday. My weight is up 1.7 lbs today. I am a hormonal, constipated mess.
QOTD- I steer clear of sugar free things. Sugar alcohols and I do not get along and its a slippery slope for me. I don't eat low fat either. I used to love bakery cakes. I would buy them just to have in the fridge.
Food for today-
Black coffee
Egg bites
Hot and sour soup and BBQ pork ( I am taking 2 of my seniors to Chinese food)
Halibut and asparagus
Not sure if anything else, my stomach is not happy.
Headed out for my walk, the sunrise is beautiful this morning.
QOTD: Ehh... I look at them but if I want cake, I eat cake not a keto cake.
B: Coffee and protein bar
S: Protein shake
ES: Celery with cream cheese
L: Turkey w/low carb wrap
S: Protein bar
S2: Cucumber w/ranch dressing
D:Meat balls and sauce trying heart of palm noodles
AD: SF jello w/whip cream!
W: 120 oz
E: 5 miles (already have 2 miles in) Dog training, like always!
AC: Daily goal of 40 carbs or less...
TSS: 2 years 7 months

Good Monday Morning all!
JB - sorry for being sick but as Jen said with schools starting, the germs are flourishing and passing around constantly. Hope you feel better soon.
Our beach weekend plans were shot because the fog rolled in, not only it was foggy the fog was so thick that it seemed like rain. So local people were calling it frizzle = fog+ drizzle. You should have seen all the people who had escaped the heat and come to our area for some beach time! They couldn't believe how cold it was and some people were still on the beach, under the blankets and shivering, but on the beach.
We did some back to school shopping, most of the time was spent in the pen/pencil isle because DS is obsessed with those. They didn't have what he wanted so he is ordering online. It's not a school requirement but he has a specific idea about what the best pen is. I am rolling my eyes.
QOTD: baking is my passion. If I can find a recipe that I can bake and eat I'd be in heaven. I have tried a couple of Keto recipes but not really thrilled with them. After JB & Amy talked about keto bombs I looked them up and made the ginger keto bomb. Let me tell you, I threw 3/4 of it away. So I am on a hunt for something that I can bake and eat and that it won't wreck my stomach. I am not adverse to SF or ff. But the carb count has to be worthwhile and low enough for me to try it. So far I haven't found the right combo.
Accountability: good. Losing the mini vacation weight gain...very slowly!
My meals for the day:
- Coffee, coffee, and more coffee
- Crockpot pulled pork (I've made a ton of it)
- Turkey patties with cauliflower refried rice
- Home made yogurt or Parm cheese
Have a a great start of the week, everybody!

morning peeps!
I have a shortened day at work today because I have a "meet the teacher" event at story's school at 4:00 so I am leaving early...she starts Pre-K on Weds. it's just 3 days a week from 9-11:30 but I am excited for her. She also has a late birthday so she won't start Kindergarten til next year and will turn 6 shortly after school starts. I am excited for her to meet some new friends and get some idea of how a school setting works...maybe learn to pay attention and follow directions a little better? fingers crossed LOL.
weekend was pretty non-eventful. did some thrift shopping but otherwise just hung out with my fam. it was nice and relaxing...Story and I painted some more rocks yesterday to hide in the neighborhood. My eating was not great on Saturday but reigned in on Sunday. I haven't weighed myself today so hopefully I didn't do too much damage. I'm planning a light eating day today.
QOTD: I guess I'll be the first one to say I use artificial sweeteners all the time. I have made several sugar free versions of different kinds of desserts/treats...I have made Keto cheesecake (which is really terrible, I do not recommend it) and sugar free cupcakes/frosting, brownies, PB cookies and low carb banana bread which I make all the time when it's a *****illy outside. I really only like Splenda though. To me, Stevia ruins the flavor of everything so it's not even worth it.
I also usually go for full fat options but mostly lean toward leaner meats when planning meals.
Morning: I found Creme Brulee flavor coffee K cups at Aldi and they are AMAZEBALLS. Added about 3 TB of caramel Premier protein shake for creamer....I could seriously drink this all day lol.
B: L&F greek yogurt, Mini BelVita snack pack
L: 2 Turkey sausage sticks, 1 string cheese, 8 baby carrots and 4 tbsp hummus
AS: peach
D: Chicken Apple sausage & bean soup
ES: apple & PBfit
Happy Monday to all!
