Morning all. Boo! I woke up sick. Bad sore throat, no voice, and a slight fever. It feels like strep, but of course my new health insurance doesn't kick in until 9/1, so I am going to have to tough this one out.

Accountability: I cannot begin to explain how much food is out at this new job. Yesterday I turned down: Sandwiches, Thai Food, Pizza & Cake. I did end up having 2 little Dove candies, though. It was hard to stay that good all day. This job is going to test me.

QOTD: Are you the type of person who avoids going to the doctor? I was raised in a religion that doesn't believe in medical intervention, but I left when I was in my 20s. I think that when I first started seeing doctors, I probably went too often, because I wasn't clear on when it was necessary.

I feel too awful to figure out a real menu right now, plus I really don't have any food in the house... Starting with my protein coffee, but after that it's all up in the air.

JB, hope you feel better fast and it's not actually strep. Careful if you do feel it is because I had untreated strep for 3 weeks and then I spent most of a year catching everything to catch because it took that long to rebuild my immune system! Not to scare you (much). I wish we had A better medical care system.

qotd - I rarely go to the doctor, to my detriment! We didn't go to the doc growing up because no insurance and also lots of family members with significant health and pain issues so you had to be dying or the bone had to be sticking out to be "really sick/hurt".

getting my hair did this morning and dinner with friends tonight - will be relaxing in between! I need this kind of relaxed day. I was so exhausted yesterday I was in bed at 7 and woke up at 5!

coffee and yogurt

tbd on lunch

inside of an tikka masala Cornish pasty and maybe one bit of the pasty dough

have a great Saturday all - feel better JB

Morning all! I really do miss everyone here but the days have been so busy that I just didn't get on.

DW's new diagnosis of Parkinson's Lewy Body Disease have pushed our medical testing and home-life restructuring to a new level, if that was even possible. Days of testing and consultations. Fortunately, I am able to telework during some of the long appointments so I don't need to take leave for all of the time.

We are also ramping up finding a new home where she can be safer and where I have less to care for. The worst part is that that will mean finding new homes for several of our cat-kids and that is killing me. If you would be interested in fostering or adopting or know of anyone in your area who would, PM me your email and I will send you pics and info. No matter where you are, we will make sure they get to you!

I am also on Day 6 of 21+ of mega steroids and 2 antibiotics for a horrible case of poison oak/ivy. I had to go to the ER on Wednesday for IV antibiotics and the meds are really messing with me. I feel dizzy, nauseated, jittery and am having real trouble sleeping between the steroids and the itching-burning of the rash. Weight is up about a pound but alot of that is probably swelling from the infection. Trying to keep the binging under control. Eating lots of yogurt and cottage cheese because it seems to go down without making me feel sick. Also adding in an extra protein shake each day for protein since alot of dense protein isn't going well.

Did my first workout back in the gym yesterday since I broke out. I was covered in bandages but enjoyed myself.

Headed out in a little to look at some condos. It is a very sad and stressful experience but I am hoping that it will help in many ways in the next few months.

Hugs and kisses everyone! And please, if you can help us find good homes for any of our kids, please let me know.

Ok that sounded weird lol. I currently don't have a cat, he passed two years ago. I only ever own one at anytime. (Not crazy with 22) lol But I love them

We miss you too Janet but understand that when you have so much going on, you have to prioritize! Good luck with the condo search and be kind to yourself!!

Oh dear, I hope it's not strep. Swallowing is so hard. It's like swallowing razor blades then vinegar. So painful. Lots of chicken soup and broth. Lol I sound like a mom

qotd. I do go to the dr when I think it's needed. Better be safe than sorry. Don't ignore symptoms
