What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week! I certainly did :) I am really happy with this job! And even though I am desperately missing all the fun I had this summer, it's felt good to use my brain :)

Photo Friday? Nothing for myself, but did anyone else see this? I am Pumpkin Spice's biggest fan, but this might be crossing a line...

Accountability: Yesterday was my first very very very big pouch day in ages. I was just hungry all day and wanted to randomly assault people on the train to steal their snacks. I managed it well all day until I came home and ate pizza... I ended the day at 1050 calories, 45 carbs and 8500 steps (but no exercise).

QOTD: Do you subscribe to any newspapers or magazines? We have a digital subscription to the Boston Globe and I have way too many magazine subscriptions to: Martha Stewart Living, O Magazine, Real Simple, House Beautiful... and a few others I can't think of right now. I am a bit of a magazine hoarder, I can't resist!

My menu is not great today... I have really hit the limits for how to eat well without actual food in the house.

Exercise: I am driving today and bringing my gym bag with me! It's happening, people!

I am having coffee with a splash of whole milk and SF packets after taking my allergy medicine. The past few days I have had horrific allergic episodes that have come on suddenly and last for hours. Not sure what is going on there. Maybe old age, lol. They say extended release so I am not sure if it works the same way for us as bypass patients or not. The pharmacists never can tell me for certain when I ask about medications and bypass.

OP- I struggle to eat but before "that time" I will want to just eat and eat, (well, graze on things that won't make me feel well, if I am honest), yet even knowing that it is an INSANE hunger. I am sure it is hormonal but that doesn't make it any easier to resist. I found a recipe for 2 ingredient truffles that fit my plan AND I think I could manage maybe 1 a day during that time, (basically 90% dark chocolate and canned coconut milk and then rolled in high quality cacao powder).

Beyond the coffee I am not sure what my diet will be like today. We are MOVING so that will take a lot of energy over the next week. I am going to focus on staying on top of my tube feeds which are vital HP and water flushes. I might try to make maybe 1 poached egg each day part of my routine and gradually make that "a thing", but I don't know if that is realistic. Aside from hydration, measuring my food and avoiding the foods I know are not good for me/will make me violently ill without avoiding everything will be very necessary. I crave carbs badly but it is a viscous cycle and they make me feel so brain foggy and my joints hurt the following day - yet if there are carbs easily accessible I will eventually find myself there. NOT good. I really need to get my head back in the game as I am just really ashamed of some of my food choices lately. It is less about the food and more about knowing those foods were not the right foods for my situation or anywhere close to the right amount. I am sure that those who have been through WLS can understand what I am talking about here.

I enjoy reading these threads to see how others are doing and what is on their menus. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

QOTD - I am trying to phase out my magazine addiction but it is hard. Readers Digest, National Geographic, GRIT, Mother Earth News, etc. nothing too exciting but I enjoy getting something in the mail and sometimes I learn new things. I recently added DIY home skills and a yoga magazine on an Amazon special.

One of my meds is extended release, my doc ordered the caps in the smaller dose so I take 2 at one time and haven't had a problem. He also suggested if there were a problem, to take 1 cap in the am and 1 in the pm.

Hope you get some relief soon!!

Happy Fri-yay everybody!

You guys really know your science fiction. I think that's cool. I only know the basics (Drew Barrymore's alien; cute, Sigourney Weaver's alien; less so.) But I do enjoy participating in the menu threads. So, you can imagine my conundrum when Sheila raised the question of wearing a Princess Leia costume to Disneyworld.

Fortunately, I have Googled the term "Princess Leia Costume" and quite a few images were available to enhance my science fiction knowledge. I feel that I now possess a background of knowledge from which to contribute my insights to the menu board:

I do have a few thoughts on the prospect of wearing the "Princess Leia Costume" to Disneyland:

1) What a loving and generous wife!

2) I think that any concerns about overheating in the Princess Leia costume are misplaced. There seems to be adequate ventilation for even a sunny Southern California day

3) Your agreement to wear the costume but not to adopt the hairstyle seems fair and reasonable

4) "Princess Leia Costumes" have not caught on here in the midwest. But that is to be expected, these sorts of trends usually start on the coasts and make their way towards the center of the country. Perhaps by next summer they will be all the rage in downtown Chicago.

5) I have to think that DH's decision to request the "Princess Leia Costume" was inspired by DS' sleepover request. Ask and you shall receive. I can't hate it.

QOTD: Aside from accounting magazines that come with memberships, mostly Barron's for financial news.

Pictures are from BMW Championship on Wednesday

Nice shots of Course 3. I worked with a member back around 2000 and had the opportunity to play all of the Medina courses a few times. Very nice place. My fondest memory was the time we played in early or mid-March because the weather had turned so great. That was fun.

I've never played, but it looks beautiful. My kids used to have swim meets there during the summer.

Holy moly Jim, I wouldn't be caught dead in that outfit, not even back in my twenties and the peak of fitness.

This is the outfit that was proposed and my comment about donut hair.

I was in Kindergarten when Star Wars came out, and I had super long hair. My mom used to give me the donut buns to go to school and I was super cool! Sadly all photo evidence burned in a house fire a few years ago!
