What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
on 8/14/19 2:23 pm
Omg that dinner you made for DH sounds amaaaaazing.
I had a 4th floor walk up apartment that had the same issue with fuses. And the fuse box was 5 flights down in the basement. ugh! It took years of trial and error to figure out what could run at the same time. I literally left a handbook for the next tenants.

Good Morning JB and Menuers,
We had a wonderful vacation in the mountains of Tennessee. I ate too much and drank a lot but I regret nothing. I did gain 2 pounds so I am working on getting those off starting today! DH has a follow up from surgery today and then I am packing the camper up because we head out tomorrow for a long weekend at the beach. I am going to spend time reading back posts and catching up with everyone.
QOTD: Since I work in an elementary school, I most definitely come home and take a shower (germ-phobic) and get into lounge clothes. Unless I am working out which hasn't really happened on a consistent basis as of yet.
B: egg and a sausage patty
L: leftover cheeseburger impossible pie with sliced garden tomato
D: southwest chopped salad with chicken
My goal is 100 ounces of water and no snacking this evening.
Have a great day everyone!
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Good morning, and Happy Hump DAY!
Breakfast - bean and cheese bowl (1/2 cup)
Lunch - Salad with lots of veggies, regular ranch
Dinner - More veggies, pita bread, hummus
Snacks - two protein shakes (helps get the protein in)
- Chia pudding with pineapple/coconut milk
Really trying to find new ways to get protein in my diet, as it seems it's been a bit lacking.
Hope everyone has a good day, and if you're in Texas like me, may the force be with you until this heatwave ends!

Let it begin with me.

Good morning! just popping in quick while I'm waiting for the chiropractor.
DH and I drove out to a nearby nature preserve last night. They have an astronomy viewing deck in the middle of a field, so we took a blanket and lay dawn to watch the Persied meteors. I saw quite a few! But DH was so busy swatting at mosquitos and missed nearly all of them and was getting really irritable, so we left sooner than we anticipated. It's ok though--we both have work this morning so we needed to get to bed anyway.
I did go car shopping Saturday and ended up with a 2017 Chevy Sonic hatchback in red. It's super cute and fun to drive. The storage capacity of an SUV, but it still drives like a little car.
QotD: yes!! Mostly I just take off my jeans and bra and strut around in a T-shirt and undies, which is also my pajamas. But it's just DH and I, so I don't need to be appropriate lol
Breakfast: lots of coffee this morning
snack:Greek L&F

afternoon: decaf with Premier
dinner: probably salad again, I have spinach and pulled rotisserie chicken that needs to be used up

Eeekkk its only Wednesday... this week is dragging! Glad Day 2 was another success, but girl set an alarm on your phone so you catch the right train home! Don't set a tone with your new workplace/coworkers that you will work late all the time, then it becomes expected. Jus****ching out for you!
Accountability - excellent. I am one of those people that I can go all day with out food but come 5pm - 9pm I want to eat the world. I changed up my dinner time, I usually eat at 7pm/7:30pm and I ate later close to 9pm and then cleaned the kitchen and went to bed, so time for me to snac****pt myself & my hands busy from 5pm until I bbq'd and it helped getting the snack monster get control.
QOTD: Are you kidding me? Lounge clothes for the win! I have a set rotation of shorts & tshirts I wear during the summer that are cool and light weight and a specific set of winter loungers as well. Right after my key unlocks the front door I greet my dogs & get copious amounts of snuggles and then go change into my "comfy clothes!"

Thanks for the reminder... My new boss is a TALKER! And she set an end of day check in from 4-5 all week, but we end up talking until 6.... So it's not so awful to chat with her and learn what she can tell me :) Plus I had 2 weird mornings of needing to leave really early, which I think will be unusual. I'm not at worried that this will be a similar trap I was in last year. There will be some really busy weeks, but I think it will be doable. !!!
