What are you eating RNYERS Thursday
Good morning, everybody!
I am back from my trip to Boston. We mostly visited family. When I saw my family they kept asking what I was doing on my vacation and it was a struggle to find creative ways not to say (1) driving, (2) sitting in traffic, and (3) visiting the person asking the question. When was I going to be doing all of these other things? However, I was long overdue for a visit and now everybody has seen me post-surgery.
Last Sunday night we saw Queen perform at an outdoor facility south of Boston. The concert was fantastic, but, as JB had predicted, traffic getting out of the facility was brutal. Kudos to Marilyn for driving us home 1 and 1/12 hours at 12:30 Sunday night. I slept most of the way. Not proud of that.
I haven't responded yet on the 50 mile challenge. On the one hand, I enjoy the Menu Board traditions like CAMAW/AMAW, Photo Friday, Whip-em-out Wednesdays, etc. But on the other had I'm not really a runner. Generally, I only run if its part of a larger workout. I do realize that I cannot merely wait until the end of August and then announce either that (a) I won, or (b) I was never participating. So, I will try and figure this out by Sunday.
Speaking of running, we are doing Kelly's name sake workout today. It's an apt nomenclature, because she would beat me like a drum at this one.Update 37 minutes and 58 very hot seconds.
QOTD: I think that after 20 months of being obsessively focused on weight loss and health, trying to bring some balance back into other areas of my life without slipping back into bad habits. I feel like this would be easier if I was retired.
Breakfast: Bratwurst
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Cheeseburger
Snack: Jerky
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

I had posted a couple of weeks ago that I had to scale a 225 pound deadlift and that I had mentally steeled myself for Cynthia to post that she could do touch and go deadlifts at 225 until the cows come home.

Sorry I missed the shout out... hahaha
I am deadlifting 140# tomorrow. When I tested my 2 rep max a few weeks ago I did 160# it was really my grip strength that held me back from doing more.
I pretty much consider it a miracle what I can do considering I had 2 major shoulder surgeries 2 years ago. And have severe arthritis and have already been told I need knee replacement surgery.

Good morning~ That's a lot of hours - but you got this Cynthia - please remember to take care of yourself! It's a half day for me today - I am getting my hair done! Hair in the 'ahhh' chair! Love my stylist!! Afterwards unfortunately I am going to ruin perfect hair for the gym, but I need to do this. I prefer a Friday or weekend hair appts to enjoy the beautiful 'do' but she is going on vacation and this was all she had available.
QOTD - My struggle is remembering to do all the things - all the time. If I am in machine mode, no problem, but throw a little wrench in there and it's a crap shoot. Plan, weight every gram of anything that goes in my mouth, prep, pack, water, vitamins, waiting 30 minutes after meals, MFP, daily weigh ins, the gym, staying active, busy, don't let my self get bored, stay away from the carb pantry and NO you cannot eat even one of hubby's fries or it's over....
Accountability - great, lowered my cals and tweaked my macros a bit since the scale isn't moving and if I don't get any action from this, I will do again in a few days, Monday maybe.
TSS 2 years, 8 months 171.1 ugh!
Gym tonight with the hubs - I'm going to try elliptical again - I am so challenged on this for some reason - I can't do it for long before my legs are noodles and my feet go numb - WTH? I get bored so easily with cardio that switching around is fun for me.
Have a great day ya'll!!

Oh I hear ya. I hate the elliptical. I will do cardio/metabolic conditioning (metcon) circuits to keep from getting bored. Rotate between things.

Although I wish I could, I don't understand how people stay on one machine for an hour!
