Woop! Friday Eve!!

I would like to say I am off but it is officially operation - meet your sales goals! Working today 6 hours, and then Open to close Fri-Sat-Sun. Yikes. 33.5 hours in 3 days. How did that happen? I still have to keep my sales up after that of course...

QOTD: What is your WLS life struggle these days? I specifically didn't say food because this life goes way beyond food. For me it is timing. Food , water. I eat 6x a day including my protein drinks. I forget to drink water at work- that hasn't been a problem in years, and I will turn around at the end of the shift and have s full water bottle. Working around new schedules is challenging.

  • Spinach egg whites frittata
  • turkey/Swiss on lite rye
  • chicken, curry veggies
  • S: cantaloupe, Greek yogurt, protein

Ex: gym day - already done

Mornin'!

It was a sodium-heavy day yesterday. Feeling it this morning - and my weight is up 2 lbs to boot. Ugh. Pushing the fluids today...

This morning we have our annual check-in with our estate attorney. I haven't gotten as far as I'd hoped to this year with refining our estate plan because we've had so much going on (two surgeries, traveling, MIL moving here - I can't remember what else), so I really need to buckle down the rest of this summer and get this stuff done and out of my hair. At this point, I mostly have to complete who gets what of items that have been handed down in the family. Ugh. SO MUCH STUFF. Then we have a hair appt this afternoon. Hopefully we can get MIL out again today. She's still having some major adjustment issues with the move. She's one who likes to be by herself when she's feeling out of sorts (and I can understand that), but I do think it might help to get out and do something fun. So...we'll try.

Accountability sucked yesterday. Back on plan today.

QOTD: probably just keeping on track on days I really don't want to. But I know I have to or the weight will come back.

4 years 2 months out:

B: protein pancakes topped with plain Greek yogurt and homemade strawberry/rhubarb compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: if we're home, a salad with diced turkey and light dressing

AS: light yogurt

D: 3 or 4 pieces of sushi roll - or pulled pork with grilled zucchini

ex: SOMETHING - feeling like a blob this morning!! I'll see what's going on at the gym today - hopefully before the hair appt so I won't screw up the results by sweating to death!!

have a great day, everyone!

I know you have sodium/bloating issues because you mention it frequently. Can I mention a few things to consider? there is a balance of sodium and potassium in our systems. A sodium problem can be an inbalance with potassium problem- and you need more potassium. How I add potassium:

  • I eat lots of cooked spinach which I call the ultimate slider vegetable. Easy to get in.
  • Use Morton's lite salt in the light blue container. Half regular salt, half potassium chloride. Do not get the all potassium chloride one. It tastes terrible.
  • Always keep small cans of Low Sodium V-8 on hand. The highest dietary source of potassium I know of. Some times I drink it like a virgin Bloody Mary. I will add some Lite Salt for taste. They are 35 calories a can. So not a big hit... but if you feel you overdid sodium that day- eating out or whatever, a great choice.

Lastly something that helps bloating is probiotics. It may take a little time to see the difference but it will help. Get one with at least 25 billion CFUs (organisms)

hey all- all aboard the coffee train! wahoooo

I'm remote today so coffee and water are in order!!

QOTD: I think it making sure I eat enough during the day so I don't go off rails at night when I seem to be 'mind' hungry? mixing up food types also helps like a variation. so if I have a slider like yogurt I pair it with sometime solid so I'm not thinking I need more after? hopefully that makes sense

Gym after work.

Tomorrow back in chatt- we are working till noon then having a work party. Then I may go by and see a house for sale.

Food for today:

gizzards/tomato sauce (homemade) and mushrooms

yogurt

probably more gizzards and veggies

Makes total sense - you have to eat enough during the day.

After I eat something that I think should be enough - if I am still hungry I try and give it 10-15 minutes to see if it passes. If it doesn't I eat veggies.

My brain has yet to say "veggies" in that situation. I believe this is guiding your ongoing success.

Water and working is hard to do.

My challenge is not setting the food/kitchen for success. I need the staples for my repetitive protein meals.

I had a fresh peach, greek yogurt, roast beef x2, iced coffee, and steel cut oats.

I made my steps.

Good morning menu friends! Another beautiful day here in Illinois and Lily and I have our 3.4 miles in already and will do another mile after supper. Accountability was perfect food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 122 today. QOTD eating my emotions. I suspect I will always fight this every single day of my life. When I'm upset or worried or sad I naturally want to eat. I deal by finding something to do :take a walk, clean out a closet or cupboard, knit, read or have a cup of hot tea or coffee. Basically it's a daily fight and I just make one good choice at a time. Here's the food plan for the day B 2/3c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 4 oz deli chicken and cheese D 4 oz pulled pork with sugar free barbecue sauce S if needed sm apple with 1 T peanut butter. Have a great day full of smart and conscious choices everyone! Time for some coffee finally!
